Language Exam that intellectually mature students will<br />

find challenging. It emphasizes critical thinking,<br />

reading, and writing through the study and discussion of<br />

expository, analytical, and argumentative essays. The<br />

course stresses the connection between reading and<br />

writing mature prose. Offering opportunities for<br />

serious students to polish their writing skills and<br />

become more sophisticated readers, AP Language<br />

conforms to the College Board recommendations.<br />

Students taking this course are required to take the AP<br />

Exam in May.<br />

nonfiction: short story, folktale, poetry, drama, essay,<br />

biography, autobiography and novel. It develops<br />

composition, vocabulary and grammar skills through<br />
