2. Hearing impaired after development <strong>of</strong> normal language<br />
facility. These candidates usually function in the same way as<br />
non-disabled candidates <strong>with</strong> respect to written material but<br />
must receive some accomnodation <strong>with</strong> respect to oral test<br />
instructions. They should be routinely seated where they have a<br />
clear view <strong>of</strong> the monitors giving instructions.<br />
Monitors for hearing impaired candidates should be screened and<br />
briefed on their responsibilities.<br />
Reasonable<br />
accommodations:<br />
- written instructions for all parts <strong>of</strong> the testing sessions<br />
- interpreter<br />
- special seating as appropriate<br />

These candidates are disabled in processing information from the<br />
printed page. They vary in the degree <strong>of</strong> their disability and its<br />
consistency from day to day.<br />

- amanuensis<br />
- recording device for recording answers<br />
