Patron Cup 2010 cum April Golf Medal Lam Jick Sern
The 2010 Patron Cup was held at NSRCC (Changi) on 15 April and 35 top golfers
qualified. The weather was good initially but towards the end the sky opened to
a heavy downpour. The lucky ones managed to finish all the holes but the rest
could only play up to 15 holes. Upon tabulating the scores for the first 15 holes,
Jack Lim was crowned the champion for the third time in four years. Richard Lim
and Johnny Tan came in second and third respectively.
The players then returned to the Club for the dinner held at Tung Lok Classics.
Some early birds went to the newly-opened FIL Spa Intelligence to enjoy a
special event promotion on their treatment. The April Golf Medal was held
concurrently with a good turnout of 63 golfers and the results were as follow:

TENNIS
STA Inter-Club Singles League 2010 Lam Jick Sern
This year’s League was held from 13 March to 18 April and two teams were sent for the Men’s D Grade. One team mainly
consisting of youth players was lead by Tennis Convenor Chua Kang Cheh while Koh Chee Hua captained the other team made
up of seasoned players.
The experience of the veteran was vital as they won all their group matches to advance to the semi finals. Unfortunately, they
did not progress beyond that stage. Better luck next time!
BADMINTON
CSC Badminton Team Challenge 2010 Lam Jick Sern
The Badminton Sub-Committee initiated the Team Challenge in 2007 as a fun event for players of all ages to play and mingle.
Four years on, it remains a popular competition.
This year, 42 players ranging from 25 to 72 years of age took part in the Challenge, which was held from 5 to 11 April. In the finals
on 11 April, the Alpha team, led by Joseph Sng, defeated the Bravo team, captained by Tan Koon Meng 4-1, to clinch the overall
champion. Court rivalry aside, the players bantered happily over food and drinks.
Each participating player was given a T-shirt and the top two teams received equipment vouchers, all kindly sponsored by
C & T Sports Trading.
