Convenors receiving their tokens of appreciation<br />
The Annual CSC Sports Awards<br />
was held on 17 April at the <strong>Club</strong> Auditorium to pay tribute<br />
to dedicated athletes who had brought glory to our <strong>Club</strong><br />
and country. A total of 180 individuals attended the dinner,<br />
including the Management Committee members, Sports<br />
Sub-Committee members, sponsors, awardees and their<br />
family members.<br />
Miss Malaysia Universe 2004 and TV host, Andrea Fonseka<br />
was the emcee for the evening, while Dr Tan Eng Liang graced<br />
the event as the Guest-of-Honour. The first performance<br />
was a synchronised hip-hop break-dance by Suntec Dance<br />
Competition 2003 champion, FUYO. <strong>Club</strong> Captain Mr Nicholas<br />
Lim then delivered the opening speech.<br />
In his speech, Mr Lim commended the passionate Sub-<br />
Committees and the <strong>Club</strong>’s administrative staff for<br />
staging additional fund raising events for the <strong>Club</strong>’s<br />
centennial celebrations on top of the ongoing activities.<br />
He also gave special mention to Convenors who had<br />
volunteered more than four years of their services to<br />
bring their sports to greater heights.<br />
Popping confetti cannons<br />
During the first award presentation, <strong>Club</strong> Captain gave<br />
plaques of appreciation to all the Convenors as well as<br />
tokens of appreciation to the Sponsors, Arina Hogan<br />
Builders, Brother International, C & T Sports Trading, Li-<br />
Ning Sports Singapore, Malaysia Dairy Industries and<br />
Pilot Pen. The following performance by international<br />
artist Dan Thompson brought the house down. The<br />
Australian’s hilarious singing impersonation such as<br />
Michael Jackson and Teresa Teng induced sidesplitting<br />
laughter from the floor.<br />
At the second award presentation, <strong>Club</strong> President Mr<br />
Edwin Lee was on hand to present the Meritorious and<br />
Recognition Awards to the 19 winners. A touching photo<br />
montage of the <strong>Club</strong>’s athletes in action produced by the<br />
Sports & Lifestyle Department was debuted before Dr Tan<br />
went up the stage to present the five main awards. All the<br />
winners were then invited to pop confetti canons to end<br />
the night on a high note!<br />
