Long Block for Twin Cam 88 ® Models<br />

S&S’s new 124" engine for Twin Cam 88 ® models brings<br />

monster motor potential to 21st century Harley-Davidson ®<br />

motorcycles. With a choice of S&S’s VFI proprietary fuel<br />

injection system, or S&S’s Super G carburetor, there is a<br />

bolt-up choice for most rides. Carbureted models include<br />

S&S’s IST ignition system which uses knock sensing to<br />

automatically optimize ignition timing under all riding<br />

conditions.<br />

Important note: requires the following to complete the<br />

engine: oil pump, oil pressure switch, cam support plate,<br />

cam cover, tappets, tappet covers, and oil filter brackets.<br />

S&S Hot Set Up Kits for Twin Cam 88 ® Models<br />

These kits make over 80 horsepower with over 85 ft. lbs. of torque in an<br />

88-inch motor, when used in conjunction with high-flow mufflers and a<br />

high-performance ignition module. They contain a carefully selected combination<br />

of components which have been proven to work well together.<br />

Intended for 88" and 95" engines with stock cylinder heads and valve<br />

springs; cams “bolt-in” without amy machine work. Hot Set Up kits contain<br />

S&S 510 series camshafts, a Super ‘E’ carburetor kit with air cleaner, intake<br />

manifold and an S&S adjustable pushrod kit. Designed for maximum power<br />

with stock compression, the camshafts have 238° intake, 252° exhaust duration,<br />

with .510" valve lift and 40° overlap. The Super ‘E’ carburetor and air<br />

filter give the motor crisper throttle response.<br />

S&S Hot Set Up Kit for Twin Cam 88 ® Models<br />

The next step up for the factory’s anemic 95-inch motor, this kit makes 89<br />

horsepower and 95 ft lbs of torque, when used with high-flow mufflers<br />

and a high performance ignition module. It features +.005" oversize 37/8"<br />

bore “pop up” pistons, an S&S 570G gear drive camshaft set, S&S adjustable<br />

pushrods, S&S valve springs and an S&S Super ‘E’ carburetor kit. The highlift<br />

cams are designed for maximum power with the high compression<br />

pistons; the camshafts have 240° intake, 255° exhaust duration, with .570"<br />

valve lift and 40° overlap. The “pop-up” pistons increase the compression<br />

ratio to 9.7:1 with stock cylinder heads.<br />

Clearances must be checked when installing the valve springs on stock<br />

cylinder heads and in some cases, machining of the valve guides may be<br />
