Delkron <strong>Engine</strong> Cases for Big Twins<br />
Computer designed and CNC-machined cases are permanent mold cast of ‘356-T6’ aluminum with<br />
1/2"-thick wall sections, have cast-in gray iron inserts and use standard fasteners. A removable highperformance<br />
sump plate permits inspection of the bottom end, and is finned for additional cooling.<br />
Permanent mold casting is superior to sand casting providing more exact duplication, closer tolerances,<br />
better mold adhesion and precision race insert location. Other innovations include:<br />
• Extra rib on left front motor mount to prevent ear breakage<br />
• Oversized front and rear cylinder pad areas<br />
• Alternator stator plug moved outboard to eliminate<br />
thin area near left case race. Nylon set screw<br />
holds plug in place<br />
• Relocated primary O-ring groove provides positive<br />
seal and eliminates weak register lip<br />
• Rerouted oil passages eliminate thin areas around<br />
cylinder and lifter blocks<br />
• Roll-formed threads eliminate tap galling and ensure accurate thread size<br />
• Work on forward or mid-shift models<br />
• All cases complete with torque specs and instructions.<br />
<strong>Engine</strong> Case Assemblies<br />
The most important components are pre-installed at the factory and are ready to assemble. The rightside<br />
pinion race is installed and line-honed to standard size. Includes left-side Timken bearings with<br />
races installed. Cases for Evolution ® engines include cylinder studs.<br />

Sump Plate<br />
Cast aluminum plate fits all Delkron engine<br />
cases and is contoured to follow the shape of<br />
the flywheels, and the outer surface has three<br />
ribs for additional surface area to increase<br />
cooling. A large-diameter sockethead drain<br />
plug is installed for easier servicing. Includes<br />
hardware and gasket.<br />
