Film<strong>Offaly</strong><br />
<strong>Offaly</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Council</strong>‟s Film Commission, Film<strong>Offaly</strong>,<br />
established its third Film<strong>Offaly</strong> Award, in partnership with<br />
Filmbase. The award winner was Toy Soldiers written by<br />
Matthew Roche and produced by Rhoda's Chaos. 2011 was<br />
the second year of the OFFline Festival and numbers of<br />
participants taking part in workshops, screenings and the<br />
filmmaking challenge doubled. Film<strong>Offaly</strong> and OFFline Film<br />
Festival also hosted a film industry event at the Galway<br />
Film Fleadh attracting 300 people.<br />

Arts Act Grants<br />
39 Community/Voluntary groups received grants towards<br />
arts activities in their community totalling €7,500<br />
Support to Artists Scheme<br />
21 Artists from <strong>Offaly</strong> across all disciplines were funded in<br />
2011 and two artists were awarded bursaries to the Tyrone<br />
Guthrie Centre, totalling €9,700<br />
Drama Awards & Community Band Grants<br />
12 Drama/Musical voluntary groups were awarded under<br />
the Drama Award Scheme 2011 and three town bands<br />
were funded totalling €9,250.<br />
Youth Arts Scheme<br />
Eight programmes providing quality experiences in a range<br />
of art disciplines were awarded funding and undertaken by<br />
youth groups under the training of professional artist.<br />
Funding totalled €4,000.<br />

The Arts Service facilitated with funding, advice and<br />

A county wide programme of events was coordinated and<br />
developed by the Arts Office in collaboration with the<br />
Library Service for the Bealtaine Festival. There were 30<br />
