and deliver heritage projects. This aspect of work will<br />

continue to grow as funding available to groups is<br />

channeled through OLDC. An example of this is working<br />

with the Trustees of Daingean Courthouse to carry out<br />

major conservation works.<br />

Information is constantly posted to the<br />

www.offaly.ie/heritage and the <strong>Offaly</strong> Heritage facebook<br />

site was started in 2011.<br />

Outlook for 2012<br />

The budget for 2012 from <strong>Offaly</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Council</strong> has been<br />

reduced to just €2,700. Funding secured for the Engage<br />

with Architecture Project and from the Heritage <strong>Council</strong><br />

will still facilitate a certain amount of activity. The<br />

Heritage Sector is fortunate with the number of<br />

volunteers that carry out work in the county from<br />

placename recording to leading <strong>Offaly</strong> Naturalists‟ Field<br />

Club events to hosting Heritage Week events.<br />
