The polar bear is protected and should only be killed in self-defence. If there is<br />

time, fire one or more shots in the air or into the ground well to the side of the bear. In case<br />

you must shoot to kill, aim at the chest or shoulder, not the head which is easy to miss.<br />

Even if the first shot is not fatal, the bear will stop for a moment, giving you enough time<br />

to fire again.<br />
