latava Nehri üzerinde bulunan ve Eski Şehir ile Prag Kalesi’ni birbirine
bağlayan Charles Köprüsü 1357 yılında ilk açıldığında, zamanın
Doğu Avrupa ve Batı Avrupa’sını birbirine bağlıyormuş. Çoğunluğu Barok
döneme ait, 1700’lü yıllarda dikilmiş 30 heykelle süslü olan köprünün Eski
Şehir tarafında bir de Gotik kulesi var ki insan kendini bir an “Yüzüklerin
Efendisi” filminin setinde sanabilir. Charles Köprüsü zaten bir “müze şehir”
olan Prag’ın en güzel yapılarından biri. Gün boyu köprü üzerinde tezgâh
açan sanatçılar, eskiciler, öğrenciler köprüyü gerçekten yaşayan bir mekâna
dönüştürüyorlar. Ama kime sorarsanız en ideal ziyaret zamanı günbatımı.
Çünkü o anda köprü kulelerine çıkıp Prag’ın, günün son ışıklarında yıkanan
güzelliklerini görmenin de tam sırası…
charles Bridge on the Vlatava River connecting the Old city and the
castle of Prague, actually connected eastern and Western europe
when it was first opened in 1357. The bridge adorned with 30 baroque
statues erected in the 1700’s has a gothic tower on the Old city side that
for a moment you might mistakenly think you are on the set of Lord of the
Rings. charles Bridge is one of the most beautiful spots in Prague which is
known as the “museum city”. Artists that have stalls on the bridge, sellers
of old items and students turn this place into a living breathing location.
But, whoever you ask, they will tell you the best time to visit the bridge is
at sunset. Because it is the time to climb up the bridge towers and watch
the beauty of Prague washed in the last rays of the day…
