The actual staff complement as at 31 March 2011 was less than
the number indicated in the approved organogram. During
the course of 2010/11, the ETDP SETA deliberately did not fill
posts which became vacant, but chose instead to wait for the
confirmation of NSDS III before populating the vacant positions.
This decision was also linked to the development of the new
organogram. In January 2011, the most critical posts were
advertised and will be filled early in the new financial year.
Staff Turnover
In the reporting period, staff turnover decreased to 7.8%
(2009/10: 8.6%), which management regards as an acceptable level.
Disciplinary Matters
One employee was dismissed after admitting to the fraudulent use
of a company asset. The organisation suffered no financial loss due
to the action of the employee which concerned using one of the
organisation’s vehicles after hours without permission.
Labour Relations
The ETDP SETA is unionised under the National Education,
Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) and 74% of staff
are paid up members.
