Verlorenvlei Estuary Management Plan Part 3: Detailed Implementation Plans 3.8 Funding Sources and Opportunities 3.8.1 Targets & Critical Limits Operational specifications refer to the measureable targets or critical limits applicable to activities/developments or activity/development zones in and around the estuary. To be included in later version of EMP by the Estuary Forum Executive team 3.8.2 Management Strategies and Actions The following actions or issues, specifically related to funding sources and opportunities have been identified at the Stakeholder Workshop held in Eland Bay (September 2009): Generate/source funding to implement the EMP. Financing (funding and budgets) need to be in the short- and the long-term, e.g. Biosphere funded local community projects. In order to address the above issues the following actions are proposed: ACTION 8.1: Prepare a financial plan for the implementation of the Verlorenvlei EMP Related Strategic Objective/s Cross-cutting to all objectives National <strong>Environmental</strong> Management: ICM Act (No 24 of 2008) Relevant legislation Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (No 32 of 2000) National water Act (No 36 of 1998) Conservation of Agricultural Resources Act (No 43 of 1983) Responsible agent Estuary Forum together with government departments (DEA, DWA, DAFF, District and local municipality) and other institutions (e.g. CapeNature) and business in the area Estimated Budget R50 000 Timeframe 1 year Priority High 3.8.3 Detailed Management Action Plans for Priority Actions Once the priority actions have been identified, the appointed Technical Working Groups (or liaison teams) will be required to prepare detailed management action plans for these actions.
