Newcomer is a
timely help for
detecting fever
With the Swine Flu epidemic sweeping the nation,
B&H Colour Change’s new brandable Cold
and Flu Symptom Pack is a timely newcomer,
helping in the quick detection of a fever.
The pack contains of a reusable liquid crystal
forehead thermometer together with a brandable
leaflet describing the different symptoms and
treatments for colds and flu.
The thermometer strip measures the body’s
core temperature by taking the temperature at the
forehead – a safe, non-invasive and trouble-free
way to take an adult’s or infant’s temperature in
just 20 seconds.
A fever can be quickly and accurately detected
with minimal discomfort and distress.
B&H’s marketing manager
Gilly Beaumont said: “Our liquid crystal forehead
thermometers are used regularly for healthcare
campaigns worldwide, including the recent
SARS epidemic.
“In light of the growing Swine Flu Epidemic,
this is an extremely useful item to have within the
home or work environment to aid in the detection
of a fever.
“The thermometer can be used again and again
and is particularly handy to have when travelling.”
Carabiner pen that will
take you to new heights
For those looking to literally
scale the heights, Carole Group’s
popular Carabiner Ball Pen could
just be the perfect addition for
anyone wanting to write about
their achievements.
The pen, taken from the group’s
Pencyclopaedia range, is available
in five – presumably Carole don’t
recommend any hanging about
in placing an order (that’s enough
climbing puns – Ed)
Golf and barbecues may not
seem the most obvious partners
for a new promotional gift idea, but
Carole has cleverly combined the
two themes in its new seven-piece
BBQ Caddy.
It’s taken from the “Topico”
range and the bag can even be
printed, going a fairway (that’s
really is enough now – Ed).
Finally a current bestseller that
has burst on the scene (you’re
fired – Ed) is Carole’s four-piece
bubbles set, complete with patience
game on the lid.
Sling is just the thing
for long, hot summer
With Met Office officials predicting a long,
hot summer (and yes, we realise that we at
PPD have just put the jinx on just by mentioning
the fact!), Clear Prospects believes
it has the ideal product to help festival-goers
and beach dwellers to survive the impending
heatwave.
The company’s new “water bottle sling” offers
a simple solution to store and carry drinks bottles
with ease – ideal for ensuring that everyone has
access to a drink to help avoid dehydration when
temperatures start climbing.
Clear Prospects recently conducted an independent
survey of college and university students in
Manchester, in which the practicality of the bottle
slings received an enthusiastic response.
Manchester Metropolitan University student
Paul Hadfield said: “This is an excellent idea, really
simple and really handy.
“It can be a nightmare trying to dance whilst
keeping hold of a bottle at the same time – and it’s
not as if you can easily fit a bottle into you pocket,
so more often than not it ends up getting lost or
dropped on the floor.”
Another student, Jodie Hodgkinson, who attends
Trafford College and will be travelling to this
years’ Glastonbury Festival, said: “When it’s hot everyone
is always very thirsty, so often we end up
carrying big, bulky bags with us to keep the drinks
in – this is far from ideal.
“The festival organisers and people who sell
bottled water should give these out to everyone
for free! They would be really popular and I think
they could quickly become this summer’s next
‘must have’ fashion accessory.”
In line with the rest of Clear Prospects’ fabricbased
products, the water bottle sling is Britishmade
and available in a range of sustainable fabrics.
The slings are made to order, in any shape, size
and colour and can therefore be made to fit any
can or bottle size.
