Why the devil’s in the detail when searching for a business success The distributor network on TradeOnlySearch. com is increasing rapidly, hence more people are looking each week at suppliers’ products than ever before. One area I am focusing on heavily at the moment is the way in which we feature supplier information on Trade Only Search. Another is how and when we report that data back to suppliers. Suppliers who have none or only a few of their products on the site should be aware of the opportunities they are passing up for what is really very little outlay. Products can be uploaded simply and easily in two ways: online, where we will help you every step of the way, or you can provide us with all the data and images and our team will upload them for you. Once a year at least (more frequently if necessary) all your products will need updating and again, this is something suppliers can do quickly and easily online themselves or, again, hand over information to our data entry team. We ask suppliers for very detailed levels of information (23 pieces for each product) and there is a very good reason for this – we are committed to providing the information Search distributor users tell us is important to them. Why, you may ask, are we going to all this trouble The simple answer is, to deliver high levels of service to our users as well as save both our supplier and distributor members time. Regulars Ashley’s services snapped up by top companies Ashley Abrahamson of AA Promotions Ltd has announced that he is now representing Solo Trading Ltd and Ceramic Designs Ltd as their appointed sales agent for the UK promotional market. Both Kevin Ross, managing director of Solo Trading, and Ceramic Designs MD Dennis Shaw were quick to snap up Ashley’s services after he announced his intention to take on agencies in the industry. Both Ross and Shaw say they are “over the moon” with the appointment, as Ashley brings with him a wealth of experience of selling to distributors. ICE maiden cometh Upmarket gifts company ICE London has appointed Emma Greene as head of its marketing department. Emma (pictured) is a graduate of the University of Leeds, where she read philosophy. She also completed a postgraduate conversion degree in psychology, recently working as a volunteer on an NHS psychiatric ward. She enjoys playing the piano, drama, Spanish, fashion, comedy and current affairs. 27
