Apply to be on the city of <strong>Louisville</strong>’s Youth Advisory<br />
board (YAb)! work on various projects that are community<br />
related, provide a voice for the youth of the community<br />
to the city officials, make a difference! applications<br />
are <strong>available</strong> on the city’s website, www.ci.louisville.<br />
co.us/boards. to be eligible:<br />
• Must be a <strong>Louisville</strong> Resident who will be in the 6th-<br />
12th grade during the 2013-2014 school year.<br />
• Must be <strong>available</strong> the first Thursday of each month in<br />
the evening for meetings during the school year.<br />
• Must have additional availability for 2-5 hours a month to<br />
serve on projects.<br />
• Must be able to serve on the board for two school years<br />
unless a senior in High school. applicants should have<br />
an interest in community issues for youth to include:<br />
volunteer work, safety, social, recreational and educational<br />
activities, community services and local government.<br />

(Ages 11-15)<br />
safety techniques, preventing accidents, rescue breathing and<br />
what to do in case of an emergency are all covered. all participants<br />
receive a training handbook, emergency reference and<br />
training cD. certificates will be emailed after the class. Bring a<br />
sack lunch for full day classes.<br />

inspiring character development through the power<br />
of movies! using films as a backdrop, truespark<br />
provides tools developed by educational experts<br />
for thoughtful, guided discussions, along with<br />
group and individual learning activities, designed<br />
to engage youth in important character and ethical<br />
lessons in an entertaining, yet enriching,<br />
manner. we ask that each participant committee<br />
to viewing a minimum of three movies.<br />
