Nederland Mining Museum<br />

& Carousel of Happiness<br />

See the various “tools of the trade” and get a close look<br />

at the lives of the miners. See how drills to do the mining<br />

changed as technology did. Ring a signal bell like the<br />

miners did to tell the hoist operator to bring them up and<br />

out of the mine. Learn about what was mined in Boulder<br />

County with the mineral display. See indoor and outdoor<br />

displays of trams, ore carts, engines, historic photographs<br />

and rare mining claim maps at the Mining Museum.<br />

After, head to The Carousel of Happiness; Colorado’s<br />

magical menagerie featuring 56 whimsical, hand-carved<br />

animals on a restored 1910 Looff carousel, turning to the<br />

music of a 1913 Wurlitzer band organ. After that let’s<br />

enjoy a delightful dinner in Nederland on your own at the<br />

Black Forest Inn. Please bring cash or check. Entree range<br />
