Parent/tot: (Age 6 months - 1 ½ years)
Learning to swim is a family affair and that is exactly how parent
and child swim lessons are taught. Children learn basic swim
instruction with the aid of at least one parent. Instruction will
focus on water adjustment and fun. This class allows your child
to experience the water and feel comfortable.

PARENT/CHILD: (Age 1 ½ - 2 years)
The purpose of the Parent/Child class is to familiarize young
children to the water and prepare them to learn to swim in the
American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics program with more
repetition. This class is similar to the Parent/Tot class but will
focus on more advanced Parent/Tot Skills with repetition. Skills
taught include: Submerging in a rhythmic pattern, gliding on
front & back with assistance, combined stroke on front & back
with assistance, and change body position. Each child must be
accompanied by one parent.

PRE-POLLYWOG / pre-school level 1: (Age 2 - 3 years)
The instructor works with your child to become more comfortable
in the water without a parent. Skills taught include bobbing
underwater, front and back floats, safety and fun.

The Louisville Recreation Center will be
closed for maintnance Weds., 8/21 - Weds. 8/28
During this time we will be doing much needed maintenance to the facility. Please make
note of a few areas that will have extended closure times:
Elevator - The elevator will be unavailable from Mon., 8/19 - Weds., 8/28.
Aquatics Area - The entire aquatics area will be closed from Mon., 8/19 - Sun., 9/8.
Hot Tub - The hot tub will be undergoing a complete remodel to meet current ADA requirements.
The hot tub will be closed from Mon., 8/19 - Mon., 9/30. (Please check our website or
with front desk staff for updates to this schedule.)
Louisville Reccreation Center monthly passes can be used at Bob. L Burger Recreation Center during the facility
closure period. Punch passes will not be valid at the Lafayette center. An issued Louisville Recreation Center pass must be
presented for valid admission. Daily visit fee will apply if a Louisville ID card is not presented.
