Assessment
Treatment
This includes a detailed assessment of the young person’s mental
health or behavioural problem. The young person is seen with their
family in the clinic setting and at home. School observations are also
carried out, if needed. A mental state assessment, neuropsychometric
assessment and function analysis of the young person’s behaviour
is undertaken. The case is then formulated with a differential
diagnosis being reached and recommendations made for intervention
and treatment. A written report is provided.
Some assessments may require a school or home visit, or additional
psychometric tests which will incur additional charges of £296 per
appointment, up to a maximum of £888.
Sessions are offered on a regular basis, both at home and in the
outpatient setting. A young person usually requires between eight
and 12 sessions. Regular reviews are provided and there is close
liaison with the young person’s referrers, their school and others
involved with their management.
