Ruth Allison was a partner at the Open Door in 1987 and 1988. She continues
to work for peace and justice.
Chuck Campbell is associate professor of homiletics at Columbia Theological
Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.
John Cole Vodicka is director of the Prison and Jail Project in Americus,
Georgia. He and his wife, Dee, along with their sons, Gabe, Luke, and Sam, are
former resident volunteers at the Open Door.
Murphy Davis is a partner at the Open Door and has worked twenty-five
years among the homeless poor of Atlanta and on behalf of women, men, and
children in prisons, jails, and on death row. She was educated in Brazil at the
Colegio Quinze de Novembro, at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia,
at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and at Emory University
in Atlanta.
Elizabeth Dede, a fourteen-year resident and partner at the Open Door,
now works as a community organizer for the Prison and Jail Project in Americus,
Georgia. Since 2000 she has been a regular participant and nonresident
partner in the Open Door.
Peter R. Gathje is Associate Professor of Christian Ethics and Peace Studies
at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. He became a friend
of the Open Door while working on his Ph.D. at Emory University.
Mark Harper was a resident volunteer at the Open Door in 1986 and 1987.
He met his wife, Susan Grine, while she was a resident volunteer. Mark is now
a Presbyterian minister and the father of three children.
