Ruth Allison was a partner at the <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Door</strong> in 1987 and 1988. She continues<br />

to work for peace and justice.<br />

Chuck Campbell is associate professor of homiletics at Columbia Theological<br />

Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.<br />

John Cole Vodicka is director of the Prison and Jail Project in Americus,<br />

Georgia. He and his wife, Dee, along with their sons, Gabe, Luke, and Sam, are<br />

former resident volunteers at the <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Door</strong>.<br />

Murphy Davis is a partner at the <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Door</strong> and has worked twenty-five<br />

years among the homeless poor of Atlanta and on behalf of women, men, and<br />

children in prisons, jails, and on death row. She was educated in Brazil at the<br />

Colegio Quinze de Novembro, at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia,<br />

at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and at Emory University<br />

in Atlanta.<br />

Elizabeth Dede, a fourteen-year resident and partner at the <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Door</strong>,<br />

now works as a community organizer for the Prison and Jail Project in Americus,<br />

Georgia. Since 2000 she has been a regular participant and nonresident<br />

partner in the <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Door</strong>.<br />

Peter R. Gathje is Associate Professor of Christian Ethics and Peace Studies<br />

at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. He became a friend<br />

of the <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Door</strong> while working on his Ph.D. at Emory University.<br />

Mark Harper was a resident volunteer at the <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Door</strong> in 1986 and 1987.<br />

He met his wife, Susan Grine, while she was a resident volunteer. Mark is now<br />

a Presbyterian minister and the father of three children.<br />
