RX 679. Oncology Rotation: This rotation<br />

develops the student pharmacist’s knowledge<br />

<strong>and</strong> problem-solving skills in the application <strong>of</strong><br />

the therapeutic principles to the care <strong>of</strong> patients<br />

who have a malignancy. Prerequisite: P-4<br />

RX 680. Pain Management Rotation: This<br />

rotation provides the student pharmacist<br />

experience with the management <strong>of</strong> acute<br />

<strong>and</strong> chronic pain, including adjuvant therapy.<br />

RX 681. Neonatology Rotation: <strong>The</strong> rotation<br />

provides opportunities for the student pharmacist<br />

to participate in the care <strong>of</strong> neonates in the<br />

RX 682. Pediatric <strong>Pharmacy</strong> Rotation: This<br />

rotation focuses on illnesses <strong>of</strong> the pediatric<br />

population, the physiologic differences in<br />

infants <strong>and</strong> children <strong>and</strong> how this affects drug<br />

therapy, how to solve problems in pediatric<br />

therapeutics <strong>and</strong> how to effectively communicate<br />

about pediatric issues. Prerequisite: P-4<br />

RX 683. Pharmaceutical Marketing <strong>and</strong><br />

Sales Rotation: This rotation provides the<br />

student pharmacist with an underst<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>of</strong><br />

the pharmacist’s role in industry by making use<br />

<strong>of</strong> pharmacoeconomic principles. Prerequisite:<br />

RX 684. Pharmacoeconomics <strong>and</strong> Outcomes<br />

Research Rotation: This rotation provides<br />

the student pharmacist experience with the<br />

utilization <strong>of</strong> pharmacoeconomic parameters<br />

in assessing the health outcomes involved in<br />

the management <strong>of</strong> patients. Prerequisite: P-4<br />

RX 685. Pharmacokinetics Rotation: This<br />

rotation provides the student pharmacist<br />

experience in the monitoring <strong>of</strong> pharmacokinetically-administered<br />

medications.<br />

RX 686. <strong>Pharmacy</strong> Systems <strong>and</strong> Technology<br />

Rotation: This rotation provides the student<br />

RX 687. Poison Control <strong>and</strong> Toxicology<br />

Rotation: This rotation develops the student<br />

skills in the application <strong>of</strong> therapeutic principles<br />

to the care <strong>of</strong> patients who have ingested, or<br />

RX 688. Pulmonary Rotation: This rotation<br />

develops the student pharmacist’s knowledge<br />

<strong>and</strong> problem-solving skills in the application<br />

<strong>of</strong> therapeutic principles to the care <strong>of</strong> patients<br />

who have pulmonary disorders. Prerequisite:<br />

RX 689. Veterinary Medicine Rotation: This<br />

rotation provides experience in the care <strong>of</strong><br />

animals with an emphasis on the use <strong>of</strong> drug<br />

therapy to cure or prevent disease. Prerequisite:<br />

RX 690. Psychiatry <strong>and</strong> Neuropsychology<br />

Rotation: This rotation is designed to provide<br />

the student experience in the specialized clinical<br />

area <strong>of</strong> psychiatry with an emphasis on the<br />

use <strong>of</strong> drug therapy in the group <strong>of</strong> patients.<br />

RX 691. Radiopharmaceuticals Rotation:<br />

This rotation provides the student pharmacist<br />

experience with the use <strong>of</strong> radiopharmaceuticals<br />

in the diagnosis <strong>and</strong> treatment <strong>of</strong> medical conditions.<br />

RX 692. Rural <strong>and</strong> Indigent Care Rotation:<br />

This rotation provides the student pharmacist<br />

with an underst<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>of</strong> the special considerations<br />

involved in the delivery <strong>of</strong> health care in<br />

the rural setting <strong>and</strong> to indigent populations.<br />

RX 693. <strong>Pharmacy</strong> Board <strong>and</strong> Association<br />

Rotation: This rotation develops the student<br />

pharmacist’s underst<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>of</strong> the organizational<br />

structure <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Pharmacy</strong> Board <strong>and</strong><br />

state <strong>Pharmacy</strong> Associations, their daily operation,<br />

<strong>and</strong> the manner in which they influence<br />

pharmacy practice. Prerequisite: P-4 st<strong>and</strong>ing.<br />
