An alternative to Gore-Tex
This material is moisture permeable. Used for
humidification, allowing humidity to reach the object
without wetting. Offers easy and inexpensive techniques for the
humidification method in removal of residual adhesives, old linings

Gore-Tex ® Laminate
Gore-Tex ® Laminate from W.L. Gore is fused to Hollytex ® which has
a pore size of 0.2 microns. The laminate remains 100% expanded
polytetrafluoroethylene (membrane) and calendered polyester
(substrate). The material has airflow of 0.1 cfm/square foot at 0.5 in H20
pressure drop, and a thickness of 4-8.5 mil. 42” wide. Price per yard.

Tyvek ® 6060
Pure spunbonded polyethylene olefin fibres – this 18# sheet is lighter,
tougher and longer lasting than paper. You can mark it with pencil, pen,
typewriter or you can emboss images into it. Tyvek is unaffected by
water, most solvents and most fumigants – use it to create washable
labels for your textiles; cover padded displays; line shelves and display
cases; create special enclosures. Tyvek can be used with our neutral
pH adhesive to reinforce book spines and hinges, or to line phase
boxes. Each 18# sheet is 23” x 35”. 25 per package.

film. Resists the
transmission of water
vapour and other
atmospheric gases. This
economical, flexible and easy to
fabricate material is used for passive
humidity controlled shipping or storage bags.
Ideal for lining the inside of shipping crates and
exhibit cases, and for lining shelves with the objective
of decreasing off-gassing from exposed wooden surfaces.
It has also been used to create a sealed framing package and to
create a low oxygen environment to treat insect infestation.

Reemay ® Spunbonded Polyester Fabric

Hollytex ® Synthetic Polyester Fabric
White, non-woven, synthetic fabrics, used for interleaving, restoration
or support. 100% polyester, with no extraneous binders or resins.
Highly calendered for a smooth surface.
Cat. # M3257-47 can be used as a support for paper in a water bath.
When used between blotters it acts as a porous release paper. Cat.
# M3249-47 is a particularly good filtering material with high static
properties; clings well to paper.

Dartek ® Nylon Film
Polyester Soft Wrap
This 100% polyester material is chemically inert. It’s smooth, soft
surface conforms well to most fragile objects. This acid-free material
is ideal for storage of fragile works of art. It is easy to use in numerous
applications: simply cut, tape, sew, heat weld or install with a hot melt
gun. Used in archives, to make pouches for wax seals and line boxes to
protect rare books. 48”x 27 yard roll.

Type 6.6 Nylon Film without any surface coatings in a .0075 mil. thick
weight. Softer and more conforming than Mylar, and can absorb up to
10% of its weight in moisture, resulting in more pliability. Often used as
a membrane on vacuum hot tables. In addition, the film is ideal for long
term storage in a dark, climate controlled environment. Dartek ® performs
well as a short term packaging material, makes a great barrier layer for
displays, and creates an ideal, transparent dust cover.
