The SAE Short Award, part of the “Interfilm Kurzfilm Festival”, hosted by Doris Beckmann (Head of
Marketing & Communications at Interfilm) and SAE Manager Peter Duhr
New Manager
Timo Krämer passed the management of the school on to his successor Peter
Duhr (former Film & Animation Head Instructor and Bachelor Coordinator)
in November of 2008. The Berlin team would like to take this opportunity to
thank Timo for the many years of successful cooperation.
Cooperation, Events and Excursions
SAE supported the renowned “Interfilm short-film festival” with workshops,
lectures and an SAE Institute Short Award especially created for the festival.
Along with providing technical support for the “Trash Film Festival“ and the
“One World Berlin Film Festival“, our students where also actively involved
in several music branch events such as “Popkomm”, “Popcamp”, “Club
Transmediale” and our own SAE Night.
SAE was represented at the “Digidesign Music Creation Tour” with its
own room in which SAE Instructors gave lectures and various hands-on
workshops. In addition, ADAM Audio provided the SAE Institute Berlin
with an excellent ADAM S3 A speaker system for instruction purposes as
a long-term loan. There were also numerous excursions during the fall of
2008. Among them: ARD Hauptstadt-Studio, Geyer Kopierwerke, Olympic
Stadium Berlin, DEA (Digital Entertainment Agency), and Microtech Gefell
& Geithain.
Contest Winner
And, last but not least, we congratulate our student Marcel Guzman, who
won the competition put on by the Berlin Agency CTI New Media for the
re-launch of a Website.
Alumni Chapter Berlin
Besides the well-attended Alumni Round-Table meeting, Chapter President,
Ethem Bozkurt also organized the film synchronization workshop held
by our alumni Anatol Zincke. Anatol presented the basic activities of a
film mixing studio and gave a lot of “tips and tricks“ based on actual film
productions.
In thanks for their dedicated work at the 2008 ALUMNI CONVENTION,
the entire Berlin SAE Team had the opportunity to satisfy their “need for
speed“ and have a great time at the go-cart rink after enjoying an opulent
celebration dinner.

Timo Krämer übergab im November 2008 die Schulleitung an seinen
Nachfolger Peter Duhr (ehemals Fachbereichsleiter Digital Film & Animation
sowie Coordinator der Bachelor Studiengänge). An dieser Stelle möchte
sich das Berliner Team herzlich bei Timo für die langjährige und erfolgreiche
Zusammenarbeit bedanken.
Kooperationen, Veranstaltungen und Exkursionen
SAE unterstützte das renommierte „Interfilm Kurzfilm Festival” mit
Workshops, Vorlesungen und einem extra für das Festival ausgerichteten
SAE Institute Short Award. Neben dem „Thrash Film Festival” und dem
„One World Berlin Filmfestival” für Menschenrechte und Medien waren
unsere Studenten auch bei zahlreichen Events der Musikbranche wie z.B.
„Popkomm”, „Popcamp”, „Club Transmediale” und der selbst organisierten
SAE Night tatkräftig im Einsatz.
Im Rahmen der „Digidesign Music Creation Tour” war SAE mit einem eigenen
Raum vertreten, in dem SAE Dozenten Vorträge und diverse Hands-
On-Workshops hielten. Außerdem stellte ADAM Audio dem Berliner SAE
Institute ein exzellentes ADAM S3 A Lautsprecher-Set als Dauerleihgabe
für Unterichtszwecke zur Verfügung. Auch die Exkursionen waren im
Herbst 2008 zahlreich, hier eine Auswahl: ARD Hauptstadt-Studio, Geyer
Kopierwerke, Oympiastadion Berlin, DEA (Digital Entertainment Agency),
Microtech Gefell & Geithain.
Wettbewerbsgewinner
Und last but not least gratulieren wir unserem Studenten Marcel Guzman,
der den von der Berliner Agentur CTI New Media ausgeschriebenen
Wettbewerb für den Relaunch einer Internetseite gewann.
Alumni Chapter Berlin
Chapter President Ethem Bozkurt organisierte neben den gut besuchten
Alumni-Stammtischsitzungen, den Filmsynchron-Workshop von Alumni
Anatol Zincke. Er zeigte anhand von aktuellen Kinoproduktionen die
grundlegenden Tätigkeiten sowie zahlreiche Tipps und Tricks bei der Arbeit
in einem Filmmischatelier.
Als Dank für die engagierte Mitarbeit bei der ALUMNI CONVENTION 2008
hatte das gesamte Berliner SAE Team nach einem ausgiebigen Festessen
die Möglichkeit, sich dem Geschwindigkeitsrausch beim Kartfahren hinzugeben
und sich fröhlich auszutoben.
