SAE Night 3 & 4 in Leipzig
No sooner was the 3 rd SAE Night over that the planning for the next event
began. The 4 th SAE Night will again be held in the “Tonne” of the Moritzbastei –
this time with three bands. Live-entertainment enthusiasts should mark
the 20 th of April 2009 on their calendars. Of course, the organizers will again
provide room for presentations by the SAE Digital Film & Animation Students.
True to the motto of the SAE Nights, “By Students for Students”, all activities,
from manning the live PA system to the multi-track audio recording and the
filming including postproduction will be carried out by students.
Video shoot during the “Nocturnal Culture Night“
SAE Film Students documented all the bands and performances during
the 3-day Nocturnal Culture Night 2008 festival. Two additional students
from the SAE Institute Berlin supported the Leipzig team. The goal of the
shooting was to produce a DVD. Kyriakos Tarassidis, a student in the FAD108
course, was responsible for editing and post production. The organizers of
the event were so impressed during the production that they immediately
decided to continue the cooperation in the future.
Alumni Chapter Leipzig
Presentations by our three Alumni Christian Kühne, Hilko Ahlrichs and Benny
Eismann were among the highlights of our Alumni Chapter. All three were
on location at various sporting event venues during the Olympic Games
in Beijing. Participants received interesting insight into that production.
Logistical challenges and details about the Chinese decision making process
brought more than just an “Aha” reaction from the listeners.
We are also in the process of planning several socializing events such as a
Poker tournament, for example.

Leipziger SAE Night 3 & 4
Die 3. SAE Night war kaum vorbei, da begann auch schon die Planung
für das nächste Event. So steigt die 4. SAE Night wieder in der „Tonne“ der
Moritzbastei, diesmal mit 3 Bands. Alle Live-Enthusiasten sollten sich also
den 20.04.2009 im Kalender ankreuzen. Natürlich wird die Veranstaltung
wieder Raum für Präsentationen der Studenten des Fachbereichs Digital
Film & Animation bieten, denn getreu dem SAE Night Motto „Von Studenten
für Studenten“ liegen wieder alle Tätigkeiten, von der Live-Beschallung über
das Multitrack-Audio-Recording und den Dreh bis hin zur Post Production,
in Studentenhand.
Videodreh während der „Nocturnal Culture Night“
Beim 3-Tage-Festival Nocturnal Culture Night 2008 dokumentierten
Filmstudenten alle Bands und Auftritte. Das Leipziger Team wurde zusätzlich
von 2 SAE Studenten unterstützt. Ziel des Engagements war die Produktion
einer DVD. Für den Schnitt und die Post Production zeichnete Kyriakos
Tarassidis, Student des FAD108 Kurses, verantwortlich. Die Veranstalter
zeigten sich bereits während der Produktion so begeistert, dass direkt vor
Ort die Fortsetzung der Kooperation beschlossen wurde.
Alumni Chapter Leipzig
Zu den Highlights in unserem Alumni Chapter zählte der Vortrag unserer
3 Alumni Christian Kühne, Hilko Ahlrichs und Benny Eismann. Alle drei
waren während der Olympischen Spiele in Peking an unterschiedlichen
Veranstaltungsplätzen im Einsatz. Für alle Anwesenden gab es interessante
Einblicke in diese Produktion. Logistische Herausforderungen und
so manches Detail im chinesischen Entscheidungsprozess entlockte dem
Auditorium mehr als nur ein „Aha“.
Aktuell bereiten wir einige Socializing-Events wie zum Beispiel ein Poker-
Turnier vor.
