“Eskimo Joe” and the production team of Studios 301 Byron Bay
Studios 301 Byron Bay
December saw Australian band “Eskimo Joe” settle in for 6 weeks to track
their new record. Produced by Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, The Pixies, Counting
Crows), the record will be mixed in the UK and released worldwide in the
next few months. The band flew to Studios 301 Sydney for a day to lay down
strings for two of the songs.
Producer Rob Feaster recently spent some time recording new tracks for
“The Mason Rack Band”.
Local artist “Jez” spent a day in the studio mixing tracks with engineer Paul
Pilsneniks for his new album.
Paul also mixed some new tracks for “The Anamalz”, songs for children, which
included animal sound samples sourced from the local farms in the area.
Producer David Nicholas (INxS, Pulp, Elton John) was in for a week tracking
an album for Sydney band “Garage Hymnal”, which will be mixed at Studios
301 Sydney.

Legendary producer Tony Visconti (David Bowie, Morrissey, Stranglers,
Boomtown Rats, Iggy Pop, Thin Lizzy, Dandy Warhols, Mercury Rev) has
returned to New york after making 301 his home for over 2 months
producing a new album for Danielle Spencer.
Studios 301 were honored to host a Jim Kelly guitar workshop featuring Mike
Stern. In a career that spans three decades and a discography that includes
more than a dozen eclectic and innovative recordings, four-time Grammy
nominee Mike Stern has established himself as one of the premier Jazz and
Jazz-Fusion guitarists and composers of his generation. The workshop was a
great success for all attendees.
Studios 301 were thrilled to welcome superstar Chris Brown to the studios
prior to kicking off his Australian tour. Chris was recording vocals for a track
for one of Country Music’s premiere talents Tim McGraw.
Internationally recognized Jazz and Classical pianist and composer Mark
Isaacs mixed his forthcoming live album at 301 with renowned producer/
engineer Richard Lush.
Studios 301 launched their new production studio” The Mezzanine” in
October. Ideally suited to song-writing, mixing and electronic music
production, The Mezzanine is fitted out with industry standard hard and
software and is the perfect cost effective environment for artist development,
mixing, remixing or overdubbing.

Im Dezember 2008 hatten wir die australische Band „Eskimo Joe” zu Gast.
Die Band verbrachte 6 Wochen in unserem Studio und nahm dabei ihr neues
Album „Black Fingernails, Red Wine“ auf. Das Album wurde von Gil Norton
(Foo Fighters, The Pixies, Counting Crows) produziert, in Großbritannien gemischt
und ist mittlerweile weltweit erschienen. Die Band flog zwischendurch
einen Tage nach Sydney, um dort bei 301 die Streicher für zwei Songs
aufzunehemen.
Der Produzent Rob Feaster schaute kürzlich bei uns vorbei und nahm neue
Songs für„ The Mason Rack Band” auf.
Der einheimische Künstler „Jez” verbrachte einen Tag im Studio um mit Haus-
Engineer Paul Pilsneniks ein paar Songs für sein neues Album zu mischen.
Paul mischte auch ein paar Tracks für das Kinderprojekt „The Anamalz“.
Auf The Anamalz sind Soundsamples von Tieren aus den umliegenden
Bauerhöfen enthalten.

Wir hatten die Ehre, Gastgeber eines Jim Kelly Gitarren Workshops featuring
Mike Stern zu sein. In seiner mittlerweile über drei Jahrzehnte dauernden
Karriere mit einer unglaublichen Diskographie und 4 Grammy-
Nominierungen hat sich Mike Stern als einer der besten Jazz- und Jazz-Fusion
Gitarristen und Komponisten seiner Generation etabliert. Der Workshop war
ein großer Erfolg für alle Teilnehmer.
Der Superstar Chris Brown schaute vor dem Start seiner Australientour in unseren
Studios vorbei und nahm die Vocals für einen Song des Countrystars
Tim McGraw auf.
Mark Isaacs (Jazz- und Klassikpianist sowie Komponist) mischte sein bevorstehendes
Live Album mit dem Produzenten und Engineer Richard Lush.
Im Oktober haben wir unser neues Produktionsstudio „The Mezzanine“
eröffnet. Das Studio ist perfekt auf Song-Writing, Mixing und Electronic
Music zugeschnitten. The Mezzanine ist mit den Hard- und Software
Industriestandards ausgestattet und bietet für Künstlerentwicklung, Mixing,
Remixing und Overdubbing das perfekte Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
