New Manager in Geneva
Roman Willi, former Head Instructor for Film & Animation and Web, took over
the Management position on February 1, 2009. After two years of being at the
head of the SAE Institute in Geneva, the former Manager, Christophe Chapelle,
wants to step back and take more time for his family and his own studio. He
will continue to serve SAE as Head Instructor and Lecturer, however.
Cooperation with Festivals in Geneva
Our Audio Students where able to prove their potential more than once
during various live events (Chat noir, Classic Concert of the city of Geneva,
European Cup broadcast, etc.). Summer will soon be upon us again and many
festivals in and around Geneva are coming up. After the good experiences
our students have gained either as audio assistants or video reporters at
diverse festivals, there will certainly be opportunities to partner with different
organizers this year as well. More information is available on our Website.

The Geneva Alumni Chapter is just about to be officially founded and several
events have already been planned.
AMSTERDAM
Mix session at the ICON Studio with Arjuna Schiks, winner of
Vinylized 2008
Vinylized Contest 2008 Winner at SAE Amsterdam Studios
Arjuna Schiks was the lucky winner of the 4 th edition of the Vinylized contest.
This yearly contest is organized by Stichting “GRAP” in Amsterdam, inspiring
young electronic music producers to submit their tracks and compete for
the first price; a full mix and mastering session of their EP in the professional
SAE Studios engineered by SAE Lecturer Seth Matteucci and co-produced
by producer Kid Goesting. The final EP of the winner was presented during
the “D3 Dutch” DJ & producer Seminar at the famous Amsterdam dance

Amsterdam Graduate Film at Icelandic Film Festival
SAE Amsterdam graduate Villi Asgeirsson premiered his short film “black
sand” at Reykjavíks International Film Festival in October 2008 as part of the
“Talent Campus”. The short was filmed with a Sony HDV camera and edited
on Final Cut Pro. Guy Fletcher, best known for his position as the keyboardist
in the popular English rock band Dire Straits, composed the music. “black
sand” was shot in Iceland in August 2006. It is 24 minutes long. The trailer

Neuer Manager in Genf
Roman Willi, ehemaliger Head Instructor Film & Animation und Web, übernahm
am 1. Februar 2009 die Stelle des Managers. Der bisherige Manager
Christophe Chapelle möchte nach zwei Jahren an der Spitze des SAE
Institutes Genf kürzer treten und mehr Zeit für seine Familie und sein Studio
haben. Er bleibt uns jedoch als Head Instructor und Dozent erhalten.
Kooperationen mit Genfer Festivals
Unsere Audiostudenten konnten sich und ihr Potenzial während einiger
Live-Veranstaltungen (Chat noir, Klassikkonzert Stadt Genf, EM-Übertragung,
etc.) beweisen. Bald ist wieder Sommerzeit und viele Festivals in und um
Genf stehen vor der Tür. Nach den guten Erfahrungen, die unsere Studenten
entweder als Tonassistenten oder Videoreporter auf diversen Festivals sammeln
konnten, finden auch dieses Jahr einige Kooperationen statt. Mehr

Gewinner des Vinylized 2008 Wettbewerbs am SAE Institute Amsterdam
Arjuna Schiks ist der glückliche Gewinner der vierten Ausgabe des Vinylized
Contests. Dieser Wettbewerb wird einmal im Jahr durch die „GRAP” Stiftung
in Amsterdam organisiert und soll junge Electronic Music Producer motivieren,
ihre Stücke im Kampf um den ersten Preis einzureichen. Zu
gewinnen gab es eine komplette Mixing und Mastering Session einer EP
in den Studios des Amsterdamer SAE Institute. Der Gewinner wurde von
SAE Dozent Seth Matteucci und Produzent Kid Goesting betreut. Die fertige
EP des Gewinners wurde während des „D3 Dutch” DJ & Producer

Absolventen-Film beim Isländischen Film Festival
SAE Amsterdam Absolvent Villi Asgeirsson präsentierte seinen Kurzfilm
„black sand“ im Rahmen des „Talent Campus” des Reykjavik International
Film Festivals im Oktober 2008. Der Film wurde mit einer Sony HDV Kamera
gefilmt und mit Final Cut Pro geschnitten. Guy Fletcher, Keyboarder der
englischen Rockband Dire Straits, komponierte die Musik zum Film. Black
Sand wurde im August 2006 in Island gedreht und nahm gute 2 Wochen in
