Audi China Building
in Beijing – Statement for
successful expansion
Drees & Sommer is supporting Audi with its expansion in the growth market
of China. The automaker has created a Research and Development Center
offering 8,000 square meters of laboratory and workshop space for 300 Audi
developers in the artists‘ quarter of Beijing. Drees & Sommer‘s German-Chinese
team has ensured that the client‘s high quality objectives are met.
Asia, alongside Europe and America,
is one of the three major pillars of Audi‘s
worldwide growth strategy. In China, the
‚four rings‘ are the leader in the premium
segment and achieved growth of nearly
30 percent in 2012 compared to the
previous year. The company wants its
Research and Development Center to
ensure that ideas and innovations from
this part of the world are rapidly incorporated
into new car concepts. More
than 300 developers will work in the
areas of motor, body, electronics and
battery development. A prototype hall
and test facilities have also been built.
The laboratory and workshop have a
total area of some 8,000 square meters.
