to nonprofit organizations
selected by the Crotty family,
founders of the Van Dyne
Crotty, Inc., uniform
company.
CTG Foundation Fund –
1999 ($1,949) supports
civic and charitable endeavors
of the Dayton community
and provides assistance
to employees during lifethreatening
illness and
educational scholarships to
immediate family members.
The fund was established
by Cables to Go, Inc., a local
manufacturer of custom
computer cables and LAN/
WAN network systems.
Dakota Center
The Dakota Center Endowment
Fund – 2000
($968,842), established by
the Kettering family, will
furnish annual operating
revenue to this west Dayton
community center.
DALU/Dayton Chapter
CLU & ChFC Scholarship
Fund – 1998 ($886) assists
college-bound dependents
of Dayton Association of
Life Underwriters (DALU)
and the Dayton Chapter of
CLU & ChFC members.
James C. Meixner, President
of Schneider, Meixner &
Co., made an initial pledge
as a public acknowledgment
of the value of these professional
associations. It also
pays tribute to his wife Mary
Meixner and mentor Max
Schneider.
Benjamin G. Danis, III,
Fund – 1997 ($132,133)
benefits charitable organizations
as directed by the
donor. He decided that
establishing a Foundation
charitable account was the
best way to accomplish
his charitable goals.
David’s Church General
Endowment Fund – 1999
($398,203) provides funds
for general operations and
for special program initiatives
of David’s United Church
of Christ, one of the oldest
United Church of Christ
congregations in the nation.
The Dayton Art Institute
Special Exhibition Endowment
Fund – 1999 ($119,190)
will make it possible to bring
world-class exhibitions to
the Miami Valley for the
enjoyment and education
of future generations.
Dayton Bach Society Fund
– 2002 ($25,039) will preserve
and promote music of
the Baroque era by funding
performances of masterpieces
written between the
years 1600 and 1750. The
Dayton Bach Society is the
only professionally trained
choral ensemble in the
Greater Dayton area with
a professional artistic and
administrative staff.
Dayton Bar Association
Foundation Fund – 1994
($101,444) provides operating
revenue to the Dayton
Bar Association Foundation
to help in its mission to foster,
promote and maintain the
honor and integrity of the
legal profession in Dayton.
Dayton Boys and Girls
Club Endowment Fund –
1984 ($20,273) helps the
Boys/Girls Club enhance
the quality of life for Daytonarea
youth and is dedicated
to the memory of George
F. Anderson.
Dayton Catholic Women’s
Club Fund – 1997 ($6,465)
established by Anita Rankin,
generates unrestricted operating
revenue for the Dayton
Catholic Women’s Club.
Dayton Chapter/American
Guild of Organists Scholarship
Fund – 1998 ($11,462)
assists individuals interested
in furthering their studies of
sacred music. Established in
1896, the American Guild of
Organists promotes understanding
and appreciation
of organ and choral music.
Dayton Christian Schools
Endowment Fund – 1991
($73,822) generates financial
aid for the pre-kindergarten
through 12th-grade education
of youth at eight Miami
Valley campuses.
Dayton Council on World
Affairs Endowment Fund –
1993 ($107,488) seeds the
educational efforts of this
globally minded organization
through an incentive gift
from a private foundation.
The Dayton Foundation
Administrative Endowment
Fund – 2000 ($87,390)
provides operational and
capital funds to aid the Foundation
in carrying out its
mission to advance charitable
giving and provide leadership
to meet changing needs
in our community.
Dayton Lesbian and Gay
Center Fund – 2000
($6,965) will aid the Dayton
Lesbian and Gay Center, Inc.,
in enhancing the quality of
life for sexual minorities
in the Miami Valley.
Dayton & Montgomery
County Public Library
Fund – 1993 ($2,631)
encourages planned and
deferred gifts to this fund
of The Dayton Foundation
for the benefit of the Dayton
and Montgomery County
Public Library.
Dayton Opera
Dayton Opera Association/
Baritone Society Fund –
1999 ($78,580) furnishes
operating revenue to support
the baritone role in Dayton
Opera Association productions.
The Dayton Philharmonic
Orchestra Association
Endowment Fund – 2002
($37,650) will provide annual
Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra
unrestricted operating
revenue for the Dayton
Philharmonic Association
and its activities.
Dayton Public Radio Fund
– 2000 ($89,089) provides
support for the classical music
and fine arts programming
broadcast on 88.1 FM and
89.9 FM throughout Dayton
and the Miami Valley. Dayton
Public Radio is “The Voice
of the Arts.”
The Dayton Public Radio
Endowment Fund – 2003
will help fulfill the operations
of Dayton’s fine- and performing-arts
radio station
by generating unrestricted
revenue.
Dayton Public Schools
Fund – “An Education for
a New Generation” – 1992
($586,270) provides significant
long-term financial
resources to accelerate and
sustain continuous improvement
toward fulfilling the
school district’s mission to
guarantee all students 100
percent success.
