Miami Valley Catholic
Education Fund – 1989
($227,651) provides financial
support for system-wide
(cooperative) efforts in marketing,
teacher recognition
and inter-school communication
and resource sharing
for Catholic elementary and
secondary schools in the
Miami Valley. It was initiated
by members of the Miami
Valley Catholic Education
Council.
Miami Valley Council for
Native Americans – 1997
($2,628) furthers the mission
of the organization through
educational and charitable
programs for Native Americans
in the Dayton/Miami
Valley area.
Miami Valley Firefighters/
EMS Memorial Association
Fund – 1996 ($18,756)
provides maintenance and
operating support for the
Miami Valley Firefighters’
Memorial project.
Miami Valley Hospital
Scholarship Fund – 1994
($333,063) provides annual
unrestricted operating revenue
for the Dayton-Montgomery
County Scholarship
Program.
Miami Valley Literacy
Council Fund – 1999
($26,599) supports the
Council’s general program
and maintenance of its
learning center and facilitates
the recruitment, training and
certification of volunteer
literacy tutors. Through
literacy, the program works
to strengthen individuals and
families and their ability to
fully participate in a democratic
society, and build
economic self-sufficiency.
Miami Valley RC&D
Council Fund – 1999
($65,279) was established
by the Miami Valley RC&D
Council. It encourages economic
and environmental
growth by providing funds
to assist Miami Valley communities
with projects related
to natural resource conservation,
rural sustainability,
community improvement and
environmental education.
Miami Valley Firefighters/EMS
The Miami Valley School
Endowment Fund – 2003
will support the general
operations of the Miami
Valley School. The School
was established in 1964 and
is Dayton’s only independent,
nonsectarian, collegepreparatory
school.
Miamisburg Rotary Club
Charitable Trust Fund –
1997 ($93,825) distributes
income, at the direction of
the Miamisburg Rotary Club,
to support its charitable
activities.
The Miamisburg Schools
Education Foundation
Fund – 1997 ($359,612)
responds to the educational
needs of Miamisburg students
by awarding educational
scholarships and supplementing
school programs.
The Education Foundation
includes several sub-funds,
such as the Hieronymus
Scholarship, which assists
students entering the field
of education.
Miamisburg Youth Center
Fund – 1998 ($24,523)
provides for the operations
of the center. This includes
activities and programs for
Miamisburg young people.
John and Charlotte Michael
Family Memorial Scholarship
Fund – 1995 ($4,934)
honors the commitment of
this family to join together
annually to celebrate its
heritage by offering scholarships,
in the name of their
ancestors, to students in the
communities of Jefferson
Township, Germantown
and Farmersville.
Daniel W. and Martha J.
Mikesell Fund – 1985
($290,487) bolsters vocal
music activities for youth by
distributing income to the
Dayton Boys’ Choir. Mary
Mikesell Mapp established
this fund as a memorial to
her parents. Daniel Mikesell,
founder of the Mikesell’s
Potato Chip Co., was an avid
singer and choirmaster.
Mary M. Mikesell Fund –
2002 ($4,655) provides
unrestricted support for the
regions’ arts and cultural
organizations. Mary M.
Mikesell was the vice president
and a Board member
of the Mikesell Potato Chip
Co., founded by her father
Daniel Mikesell.
Geraldine L. Miller Family
Fund – 2003 ($395,299)
will honor the donor’s
wishes by awarding grants
to Lutheran Social Services
of the Miami Valley, United
Christian Church in Clayton,
United Rehabilitation Services
of Greater Dayton and
The Dayton Foundation.
Geraldine Miller was employed
as a secretary for
Northwestern Mutual Insurance,
Co., for more than
34 years.
Miller-Valentine Scholarship
Fund – 2000 ($43,404) will
assist students in furthering
their post-secondary education
at an accredited university.
First priority is to award
scholarships to children
or stepchildren of current
employees of Miller-Valentine
Partners, Ltd.
Milton-Union Education
Foundation – 1995 ($70,018)
promotes the programs,
Mary Mikesell Mapp
activities and facilities of
the Milton-Union Exempted
Village Schools, Miami
County.
Monarch/Genesis Fund –
2001 ($2,621,639) was
established by the Genesis
Foundation to provide
unrestricted revenue for
designated charities, as well
as for organizations that
improve the quality of life
in their region.
Montgomery County Association
of Police Chiefs,
Inc., Scholarship Fund –
2001 ($4,232) was established
by the Association to
assist individuals in furthering
their education in the
fields of law enforcement
and criminal justice.
Montgomery County
Historical Society Fund –
1997 ($29,300) helps the
Historical Society in its mission
to collect and preserve
the history of the Greater
Dayton area and interpret
that history to the general
public.
Moraine Rotary Club
Foundation Fund – 1999
($42,392) furthers the
charitable and educational
efforts of the club’s membership
by encouraging deferred
and planned giving.
The Helen Malahy Morris
Fund – 2003 ($4,202) will
perpetuate the donor’s long-
