Wendy Dodson went straight
into employment after studying
for her A-Levels. Over the years
she has gained a lot of experience
in many different vocations.
However, Wendy wanted to widen
her opportunities, and opted to
study the MBA at University
Centre Doncaster.
WHY CHOOSE THE MBA
I completed my A-levels and went
straight into employment. I’d
gained lots of management
experience over the years, but I
didn’t have a piece of paper saying
I was capable of doing it. The
world is changing out there, so I
wanted to widen my opportunities,
and after looking at lots of courses
and talking to to the tutors at
University Centre Doncaster, we
decided that the MBA was most
appropriate.
DONCASTER’s FLEXIBLE APPROACH
I’ve got family responsibilities,
children and elderly parents, so I
couldn’t afford to be away from
home for huge spells and I needed
to carry on working, so the flexible
approach that Doncaster offered
was ideal.
THE BENEFITS - PROMOTION
The course puts lots of the theory
behind the practice that I’ve done
over the years, and it’s answered a
lot of questions that I’ve had in
the past, I’ve made lots of new
connections and I now know a lot
more people. It’s also helped me
gain employment within another
organisation. I needed a degree to
apply for it, so having done the
MBA I was able to apply. The
interview process was a long one,
including assessment days, tests
and three different interviews, so
I’ve had to draw on a lot of the
things that I’d learnt on the
course.
