How will this course help me and<br />
my organisation<br />
This course will give you an<br />
advanced knowledge and<br />
understanding of clinical<br />
assessment, treatment strategies,<br />
cultural contexts and therapeutic<br />
approaches involved in the<br />
process of Psychosexual Therapy.<br />
You will gain the skills to work in<br />
either the statutory or voluntary<br />
sectors, or as an independent<br />
practitioner, as well as<br />
professional accreditation with<br />
the British Association for Sexual<br />
and Relationship Therapy.<br />
Successful students may progress<br />
to the MSc degree.<br />
Course description<br />
The course uses a variety of<br />
teaching methods including<br />
formal lectures, structured skills<br />
development and practice,<br />
workshops and programme group<br />
Modules include: Clinical<br />
Assessment, Treatment Strategies,<br />
Clinical Placement and Practice<br />
Issues, Further Issues in<br />
Psychosexual Therapy, Cultural<br />
Contexts and Therapeutic<br />
Approaches.<br />
ASSESSMENT<br />
Assessment is by written<br />
assignments. There is an annual<br />
supervisor’s report and you will<br />
submit a Professional Portfolio.<br />
You must adhere to the COSRT<br />
Code of Ethics and Practice.<br />
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS<br />
You will need a counseling or<br />
therapy qualification or a relevant<br />
health professional qualification;<br />
a first degree or equivalent Level 6,<br />
plus access to a practice base in a<br />
Relate <strong>Centre</strong> or other approved<br />
clinical setting. You must already<br />
have 50 hours of supervised<br />
of the start of the programme,<br />
and adequate word processing<br />
skills, IT skills and access to the<br />
internet. If you do not have a<br />
previous Relate practitioner<br />
qualification, you will need to<br />
attend an interview.<br />

Fees vary depending on whether<br />
or not you already hold an<br />
Equivalent Level Qualification<br />
(ELQ).<br />
