1995 - 98 Structural policy initiatives in the areas of SME re-structuring/training
(ADAPT - DG V); regional economic Development (IRISI + other
Article 10 measures) and rural economic development (LEADER II).
Public awareness:
The Information Society Forum and the High Level Expert Group on
the Social and Societal Aspects of the Information Society will identify
challenges and make recommendations.
Exploratory actions for legislative measures: Green paper (formal
consultation) on employment legislation (DG V); country studies and
workshop on Health + Safety issues (DG V - Lux).
RTD: usage trials of generic advanced services and technology
development + service/usage deployment concertation chain for
Guidelines consensus (ACTS); demonstration of telework for new
employment and urban/rural development (TRAPS); Technologies for
new business organisations (IT).
Publication and dissemination of the results of the exploratory Telework stimulation
actions; and emerging RTD results (EPRI - watch: Info-Win).
Setting up of the Information Society Forum and the High Level Expert Group on social
impacts of the information society: identification of challenges and recommendations
European Telework week: simultaneous European, National + regional initiatives:
conferences, seminars, open days, advertising and media coverage initiatives.
Trans-European network stimulation
Stimulation of coherent private-sector investment in trans-European service networks
enabling trans-border telework development and creation of a simple European labour
market for information management services: call for proposals: February 1996.
