Student Program Curriculum Template and Guide
Presentational tasks require students to engage in productive communication using oral or
written language, produce spoken or written communication for people with whom there is
no immediate personal contact or which takes place in a one-to-many mode, or author or
create visual or recorded material for listeners or readers not personally known.
Interpersonal, Presentational Interpretive tasks:
Students listen to, watch a short video clip, or read a short and simple illustrated text about
traditional Iranian wedding. They make an illustrated book, a poster, a PowerPoint presentation,
etc. to highlight the main ideas about Iranian wedding. They then present their work to the class
and answer questions. The final project will include:
Short descriptions of the bride and groom: names, age, place of origin, education,
profession and bride’s wedding gown
Place and time of the wedding: Aghd and Aroosi [ ceremony and reception]
Sofreh Aghd [wedding table]: Name of the items and what they symbolize
G. Other Types of Assessment and Evidence of Learning – Formative Assessments
Other types of assessment and evidence of learning may include a wide range of activities and
products that provide meaningful evidence of learning, such as dialogue journals, reflective
journals, posters, LinguaFolio self-assessment, role plays, presentations of visual or performance
arts, portfolios, audio portfolios, e-portfolios, research projects, or videos. Be sure to include
some assessment or reflection about students’ attitudes and perspectives toward the target
language and culture. These tasks will occur throughout the program and should address all of
the program goals.
Examples
Role plays Students will be asked to invite other students to a
wedding ceremony
Students will role play selling and buying fabric, gift,
clothes, etc. for a wedding
One student pretend to be host to a family member from
another city or counry and talk about the wedding
arrangements
One student will ask for direction and another student
gives direction to the location of central bazaar and/or
the closest metro station in Tehran.
Students will have a phone conversation with family or
friend.
Students will interview their family members regarding
their weddings
