It was founded in 1990. The Gomel state medical university is the dynamically developing<br />
establishment of education which is widely known in Republic of Belarus and abroad, as the center of<br />
the higher medical education and a medical science. Now the structure GSMU includes 4 departments,<br />
35 chairs, including 18 clinical ones, 12 special courses, and also the Central research laboratory. The<br />
university actively develops the international interactions. So, at department of training specialists for<br />
foreign countries more than 450 students from 25 countries (India, Syria, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan,<br />
Yemen, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Lebanon, Palestine, Nepal, Peru, Afghanistan, Ukraine, etc) receive<br />
higher education.<br />
