AMENITIES: foreign students are accommodated in apartments at the Residence Hall. Apartment unit (2 bedroom apartment) has a kitchen and a bathroom. CAMPUS LIFE: the university offers sports training of all kinds. One can attend sports and fitness centers with swimming pools, workout rooms, open air sport grounds. Sport groups (24 sports) operate in BSU. Various student competitions take place annually. For example, year-round BSU student competition in 21 sports (arm wrestling, weightlifting, basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, Greco- Roman wrestling, judo, table tennis, skiing, swimming, chess, orienteering, sports aerobics, crosscountry race, karate, and athletics). Competitions, concerts, discos are organized at the Residence Halls and at departments premises. At the department of preparatory program foreign cuisine and dancing events take place each year. BNTU is the largest technical college in Republic of Belarus and it is recognized as the international scientific community. BNTU is the full member of the European Association of Universities, the International Association of Universities and is awarded the status of base technical college of CIS countries. Created at the beginning of the 20th century on the basis of polytechnical school, BNTU over time turned into the leading center of preparation of engineering specialists and architects. In 1947 in BNTU Jores Ivanovich Alfyorov, the Nobel prize winner in the field of physics of 2000 began the study. BNTU carries out preparation on 115 specialties I and II level of the higher education at 16 main faculties and at 5 institutes.
