MORE than 350 people turned out in force for<br />
the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Sefton.<br />
Fundraisers of all ages were sponsored to do<br />
one, three or six miles around the <strong>at</strong>hletics<br />
track <strong>at</strong> Litherland Sports Park.<br />
The day was a massive success with friends,<br />
families and workm<strong>at</strong>es joining together in<br />
friendly rivalry to go the extra mile for Sport<br />
Relief 2012. All ages were represented on the<br />
day including oldest participant, Isabella<br />
Coleman, 80, who took part in the event with<br />
her three daughters and granddaughter.<br />
N<strong>at</strong>alie Hogan, from Sefton Council’s Active<br />
Sefton team, said: “It was a fantastic day!<br />
W<strong>at</strong>ching the community come together to<br />
support such a gre<strong>at</strong> cause was brilliant!<br />
“We feel very proud knowing th<strong>at</strong> the money<br />
raised here today will help people living tough<br />
lives in Sefton, across the rest of the UK and in<br />
some of the world’s poorest countries.”<br />
More than one million men, women and<br />
children came together to walk, run or hop <strong>at</strong><br />
the hundreds of Sainsbury’s Sport Relief<br />
events th<strong>at</strong> took place across the country over<br />
the Sport Relief weekend.<br />
The event <strong>at</strong> Litherland Sports Park raised <strong>at</strong><br />
least £1,500 with don<strong>at</strong>ions still coming in.<br />
