been getting creative over the
Easter holidays and taking part
in Easter bonnet competitions.
Asda hosted an Easter Bonnet
parade at their store behind the
Strand recently and attracted
lots of entrants.

A MAN has told of his ‘sickening
disgust’ after discovering child porn
images on a second–hand laptop he
bought from a car boot sale.
Jack Colbert, of Bellini Close in
Seaforth, bought an Acer laptop from
Stanley Road but was ‘horrified’ to
find the previous owner had used it to
store ‘hundreds’ of indecent images.
After he handed the computer to
police in July last year, a 50–year–old
man from the Crosby area was
arrested in September – but since
then no–one has been charged in
connection with the incident.
Now Jack is calling for police to ‘step
their investigations up a gear’ because
he claims that the owner of the images
–andpotentiallyothersinthearea
who could also be involved – pose a
‘risk to children’.
In response, police claim that when it
comes to child porn they are
‘committed to thoroughly
investigating all allegations’ but can’t
comment further as the matter is still
under investigation.
Jack said: “After turning on the

contain child porn
laptop I discovered horrible titles of
hundreds upon hundreds of files.
“Obviously someone had been
copying lots of disgraceful and
sickening DVDs with this computer.
“Police have to step up their
investigations because this person –
and potentially others who are
involved – have been roaming free
and pose a risk to children in the local
area.
“This could be the tip of the iceberg
so we need to get these people off the
streets as soon as possible and lock
them up.”
A spokesperson for Merseyside
Police said: “Police can confirm that a
50–year–old man was arrested on
Thursday, September 29, on
suspicion of an offence under the
Sexual Offences Act 2003.
“On Wednesday, July 20, a member
of the public handed in a second hand
laptop they had purchased, as they
were concerned about the names of
files contained on the computer.
“The laptop was seized by the
officers and was submitted to the
Force’s Hi–Tech Crime Unit for
inspection.
“Following this inspection a number
of indecent images of children were
discovered on the laptop.
