Record breaking year<br />
<strong>at</strong> Chesterfield High<br />
Teachers said they were delighted th<strong>at</strong> Councillor Joe Anderson, who became senior<br />
learning mentor <strong>at</strong> Chesterfield in 2001 was able to present the awards to the students <strong>at</strong> an<br />
evening of celebr<strong>at</strong>ion for all.<br />

STUDENTS from Chesterfield High School<br />
have been celebr<strong>at</strong>ing success <strong>at</strong> two prize<br />
giving events recently.<br />
The Year 11 students of 2011 received<br />
certific<strong>at</strong>es and prizes following their<br />
GCSE/Level 2 results last summer.<br />
Teachers said they were delighted th<strong>at</strong><br />
Liverpool Council Leader Councillor Joe<br />
Anderson, who became senior learning<br />
mentor <strong>at</strong> Chesterfield in 2001, was able to<br />
present the awards to the students <strong>at</strong> an<br />
evening of celebr<strong>at</strong>ion for all.<br />
Year 13 students of 2011 also returned to<br />
school for a celebr<strong>at</strong>ion to receive their A<br />
Level/Level 3 certific<strong>at</strong>es and prizes.<br />
Mike Treanor, assistant headteacher, said:<br />
“It was another record breaking year for our<br />
6th Form students, who not only achieved<br />
some outstanding individual results, but<br />
also achieved Chesterfield’s highest A<br />
Level/Level 3 point score per student and<br />
per entry.<br />
“We are delighted th<strong>at</strong> their high<br />
achievements has allowed so many students<br />
to access courses <strong>at</strong> the universities of their<br />
choice in wh<strong>at</strong> was for many of their peers<br />
n<strong>at</strong>ionally, a difficult year to gain university<br />
entry.”<br />
