CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY WC 6.2 Disabled Parking Bays DI 100 RO 106 Author Works Supervisor Disclosure of Any Interest Nil Background Request from January 2007 Council meeting for extra Disabled Parking Bay outside Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery Centre, Knight Terrace, Denham. Comment An email sent to Terri Tonkin of Main Roads WA in Carnarvon advising of Council's intention to have a disabled parking bay located in front of the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery Centre. Advice was received back that Knight Terrace is a Shire road with parking bays being the responsibility of the Shire. Requirements for a Disabled Parking Bay immediately east of the current loading zone in front of the Discovery Centre require alterations to the kerbing, signage and line marking to accommodate the legislative specifications of an additional Disabled Parking Bay. Line marking is to be done on Shark Bay Road after reseals. This crew will be requested to also line mark streets in town site of Denham. Some areas MRWA is accountable for, while others the Shire of Shark Bay will be accountable for. Contact has been made to line marking company by the Works Supervisor requesting costs. ORDINARY COUNCIL AGENDA - 30 MAY 2007 Page 37 Recommendation That the Works Committee recommends to Council that Council not make a decision with regards to the installation of a disabled parking bay area on Knight Terrace immediately east of the current loading zone, until the full cost of doing so is determined for possible inclusion in the 2007/2008 budget. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY WC 6.3 Tender 2006/07-03 Depot Shed TE 115.11 Author Works Supervisor Disclosure of Any Interest Nil Background Tenders were advertised in January/February 2007 for the purchase and construction of a shed at the Shire Depot, Dampier Road, Denham. The budget allowance in the 2006/2007 budget is $75,000. Comment The evaluation of tenders should include, but is not limited to, consideration of - • Value for money. • Price compared to budgeted cost. • Conformity with tender documents. • Previous contractor performance reports. • Safety records and other organisation factors. • Technical, management, physical and financial resources. • Regard for Council Policy 10.6 ‘Local Goods and Services’. Tenders were received from 2 companies, being: John Famlonga Depot Shed Colorbond $70,108 inc GST Koolinda Way Depot Shed Zincalume Roof $69,168 inc GST Exmouth WA 6707 Mobile 041 792 4742 Paul Mason Depot Shed Colorbond $54,300 + GST 177 Marine Terrace Busselton WA 6280 Phone/Fax 08 9752 3070 Both tenders received fall within the budget of $75,000 (exclusive of GST). The tender received from John Famlonga is for the type of shed that it constructed in Exmouth and conforms to the higher ratings that are required for such structures in Exmouth. The Shed design also includes four rollers for the door. The tender received from Paul Mason conforms to Category 2, Region C specifications. The Shed design includes two rollers for the door.
