and positive space, balance, light and<br />

Djembe<br />

This class introduces the djembe (an iconic<br />

African drum) and all the skills required to<br />

play various rhythms, and create a variety of<br />

sounds.<br />

Ukulele<br />

The ukulele is one of the best introductory<br />

instruments there is. Easy to play with<br />

smaller hands, the uke opens the door to the<br />

larger world of musical instruments in a fun<br />

way. We will learn to read and play chords,<br />

strum patterns, and then put it all together to<br />

play familiar songs.<br />

Bluesfest Community Choir<br />

Rediscover the joys of singing and belting<br />

out your favourite tunes in a casual<br />

community environment. This choir will have<br />

its final performance at the RBC Bluesfest in<br />

July! No experience necessary. Please note,<br />

the date and time of the final class is subject<br />

to change as a final rehearsal is required in<br />

preparation of the Bluesfest performance.<br />

Rehearsals take place on the first<br />

Monday of every month 6:00-8:00pm,<br />

ongoing.<br />

AND PEARL JAM. ROCK U IS LOOKING<br />

FOR YOU! WE’RE FORMING CHILD,<br />

YOUTH AND ADULT COVER BANDS THAT<br />

WILL COME TOGETHER THIS SPRING,<br />

COACHED BY ONE OF OUR IN-HOUSE<br />

PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS.<br />

Bands will rehearse for 2 hours each week<br />

with our resident band coaches, arranging<br />

and mastering cover songs in preparation<br />

for a live performance at RBC Bluesfest in<br />

July! Bands must complete a minimum of 24<br />

hours of coached rehearsal to qualify for the<br />

performance at RBC Bluesfest.<br />

Register as an individual or as a band.<br />

Individuals will be grouped by age, playing<br />

ability, availability and interest<br />

Payment and details<br />

Initial registration fee of $99 per person<br />

covers the first 4 weeks of the 12 week (24<br />

hour) <strong>program</strong>. Each week includes a two<br />

hour rehearsal.<br />
