Soft and supple on the taste with good intensity of fruit and lovely juicy finish. Drink with: on its own or with red meat or casserole. ££ REGIONAL FRENCH RED Eric Fabre at Chateau d’Angles 153395 Lodez Cabernet Sauvignon 13% 75cl C NEW Vin de France Screwcap Rich in appearance with raw blackcurrants on the nose. A fruity wine that is easy drinking with medium body and excellent length. Drink with: on its own or with red meat or casserole. ££ 153399 Les Delices de Lunes Pinot Noir 13% 75cl C NEW Pays de Pays d’Oc Aromas of red berries and spice. The taste is subtle and savoury with excellent fruit concentration and length. Very stylish. Drink with: good with lamb cutlets, hard cheeses. ££ 152808 De Neuville Merlot 12.5% 75cl C V NEW Vin de France An excellent Merlot with berry fruits on the nose and hints of jam. The palate shows rich bramble fruit and is soft and velvety to its finish. Drink with: good with red meats but also with spicy foods. ££ 153400 Castelmaure Corbieres 13% 75cl C BR AOP Corbieres 40% Carignan (30 year old vines) 40% Grenache and 20% Syrah. NEW The Carignan undergoes carbonic maceration, creating a rich, fruity and delicious red wine with lots of depth and terroir flavours. Drink with: excellent with cassoulet. ££ 153401 Mas de Lunes Rouge 13% 75cl C V NEW Coteaux du Languedoc 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache. Intense aromas of red berries, spice and a touch of coconut. Rich and complex flavours in the mouth with excellent balance of rich fruit and mellow oak. Delicious rich Southern France red. Drink with: perfect with game of any full flavoured red meat. ££ 152799 Carignan Vieille Vignes Les Archeres 12.5% 75cl C Languedoc 100% Carignan from the Languedoc region. Soft round palate with hints of blackcurrants with nice complexity and good structure. Drink with: excellent with smoked or dried meats. ££ 152817 Chateau d'Angles 13.5% 75cl D BR Languedoc La Clape A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre, produced by Eric Fabre in the excellent region of La Clape in Languedoc. Superb concentrated wine with excellent balance and depth of flavour. Drink with: roast beef, venison. £££ From Médoc to Languedoc Since 2002 when the Fabre family took over Château d'Anglès, they have succeeded in revealing the true potential of this vineyard and now have a range of award winning wines to show for their enthusiasm and commitment. With a lifetime in wine making, Eric Fabre's career includes eight years as Technical Director of Château Lafite Rothschild, as well as taking a much lesser known Médoc label to the highest accolades in only six years. It was however, a lifelong dream to own a vineyard on the Mediterranean, so 2001 saw Eric and his wife Christine hunting from Perpignan to Nîmes for a high quality terroir. They were quickly seduced by the Château d'Anglès, and what a very understandable temptation! The beautiful ancient stone farmhouse of Château d'Anglès overlooks the vines that slope gently down to the shores of the Mediterranean. Hard really to imagine a more idyllic setting and just as hard to imagine a family more passionately dedicated to the constant improvement of the quality of their wines. BR BR 15
