Alot of investment has been made over the past few years and quality has improved dramatically. Malbec is the star red wine from Argentina producing really delicious complex wines that are great with beef, Argentina's other great export. Last year we have extended our range and introduced the excellent wines from Finca Las Moras in the province of San Juan, one of the very best producers in Argentina. This year we have introduced the Pacha Mama range or wines made from Organically grown grapes, both the Torrontes and Malbec are first class. RED 150574 Trivento Zonda Shiraz/Malbec 2009/10 12.5% 75cl C Attractive soft berry fruit character on the nose. The taste is easy drinking with good fruit concentration and the slight spicy character of the Shiraz combing well with the Malbec. Drink with: roast chicken or turkey - good choice for Christmas lunch. ££ 096921 Trivento Malbec 2009/10 12.5% 75cl C Vibrant ruby red in appearance with distinctive violet hues, this wine is clean on the nose with rich red berry fruit aromas. The palate is medium in body with generous rounded tannins and plenty of ripe red and black berry fruit lasting well onto the balanced finish. Drink with: roast or casseroled chicken. ££ 150173 Trivento Pinot Noir 2009/10 13.5% 75cl B Produced from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in Trivento vineyards in Los Arboles and Tupungata. 30% of the blend is aged for 8 months in French oak barrels before bottling. The taste is mellow and fruity with notes of red fruits and violets. Drink with: grilled lamb cutlets or duck breasts. ££ 152214 Alma Mora Cabernet Sauvignon 2010/11 13% 75cl C VE Full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with upfront blackcurrant fruit on the nose and taste. Good balance of fruit with supple tannins and good concentration. Drink with: grilled sausages or lamb cutlets. ££ 152213 Alma Mora Malbec 2010/11 13% 75cl C VE Malbec produces wines of real character in Argentina, it is widely grown in South West BR France and is used to produce Cahors amongst other wines. The fruit quality is excellent in this wine with good concentration and length. It has outstanding balance of fruit and oak with notes of black pepper, red fruit and vanilla. Very stylish wine with silky tannins. Drink with: roast or casserole duck or venison. £££ ARGENTINA 151428 Las Moras Three Valleys Gran Shiraz 2006/07 14% 75cl D VE A wine with deep purple colour and complex aromas of red fruit and chocolate. BR Full bodied taste with a lingering finish. Aged for 18 months in French oak which adds complexity and style. Drink with: casseroled red meats or game. £££ ROSE 152669 Alma Mora Shiraz Rose 13% 75cl 3 Lots of up front strawberry fruit flavours and med dry in style. Delicious easy drinking rose, perfect for ‘summer’ BBQ's. Drink with: any BBQ food or stir-fry. ££ WHITE 150575 Trivento Zonda Chardonnay/Torrontes 2010/12 13% 75cl 2 Attractive fresh and fruity on the nose with some aromatic character. The taste is a good blend of peachy Chardonnay with the more unusual light orangery flavours from Torrontes. Drink with: roast turkey or chicken, also cold chicken salad. ££ 101257 Trivento Viognier 2010/12 13.5% 75cl 3 Screwcap A brilliant, golden appearance with green tinges, this wine has a complex nose offering an intriguing mix of apricot, honey and tropical fruits. Well balanced on the palate with plenty of rich, ripe fruit and crisp acidity leading to a long, honeyed finish. Drink with: poached salmon or trout. ££ 152217 Alma Mora Viognier 2010/12 13% 75cl 2 VE Attractive rich fruit character with typical flavours of apricot with a touch of orange. Nice balance of fruit and acidity. Drink with: salmon fishcakes or roast trout. ££ 152216 Alma Mora Sauvignon Blanc 2010/12 13% 75cl 2 VE Sauvignon from the Pedernal Valley in San Juan. The wine has citric and herbal notes on the nose. The taste is very refreshing with grapefruit and melon character on the palate. Drinks well with shrimp, smoked fish and white meat. Drink with: chicken salad, smoked salmon, trout or mackerel. ££ 152635 Pacha Mama Torrontes 2010/12 Organic 13% 75cl 2 VE Delightful, refreshing dry white wine with a lovely floral bouquet and very distinctive BR flavour with an attractive orange fruit character. Drink with: good with grilled or griddled tuna. ££ 151434 Las Moras Black Label Sauvignon Blanc 2008/09 13.5% 75cl 2 VE Classy Sauvignon from higher altitude vineyards in San Juan. Partly fermented in new oak barrels (approx 30%). Good balance of tropical fruit and crisp gooseberry flavours typical of cooler climate Sauvignon.
