The Rhone valley produces some of the most delicious red wines in France, from Grenache
based wines in the South (such as Chateauneuf) to the spicy Syrah based wines in the North
(Crozes Hermitage). The Grenache grape produces rich red wines with lots of flavour but
soft tannins and is much underated. Try our superb new Cotes du Rhone Villages from
Domaine de Pasquiers, a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre and our new
Chateauneuf du Pape from Laure Colombo, a beautifully made wine.

GERMAN WINES
The majority of vineyards in Germany border the river Rhine or its major
tributary the Mosel. It is a mainly white wine region though a number of black
grapes are cultivated. Traditionally German wines have had a degree of
sweetness but there is now a definite shift towards the production of drier styles.
