The number <strong>of</strong> individuals found in the most part <strong>of</strong> the localities was one to three, only in<br />

some localities as many as seven or eight individuals were found. At the same time, the mean<br />

number <strong>of</strong> exuviae found in one locality (sample site) was five, maximum – 19 exuviae.<br />

The development <strong>of</strong> larvae was found mainly in the water bodies with the following micro<br />

habitats: water with Sphagnum; sunken, wet Sphagnum; Sphagnum with beak rush Rhynchospora<br />

alba and pod grass Scheuchzeria palustris, heather Calluna vulgaris and bog rosemary Andromeda<br />

polifolia (Table 8). In these water bodies also egg laying was observed. The water bodies were<br />

generally ~30-1000 m 2 in size.<br />
