Ophiogomphus cecilia. The species was recorded in 79 squares that constitute 4.3 % of the
839 Latvian squares for which data on dragonflies are known and 2.8 % of all (2785) Latvian
squares covering the territory of the country. From these, the species was found in 16 squares
(4.3%) during the historic period and in 67 (10.2%) in the current period (Figure 13).

In Latvia O. cecilia is found in rivers of various sizes (10-50 m wide), river segments with
sand or gravel bottom with a thin layer of mud and scarce or no vegetation. In the stages of Gauja
surveyed in a boat, the maximal number of adult individuals found in one kilometre was five, the
mean number 1.6 individuals. In other localities in other rivers one to five individuals were
observed.
Leucorrhinia albifrons, L. caudalis and L. pectoralis. The species relative distribution in the
5x5 km square grid was given in Table 9. The distribution of L. albifrons represent in Figure 14,
L. caudalis – Figure 15 and L. pectoralis – Figure 16.
