VCE (VET)BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION-CERTIFICATE II (21844VIC)(Partial Completion)(Bricklaying or Carpentry)Units 1-4 sequence. 10% increment available for contribution towards the ATAR.NOTE: This program provides partial completion of 21844VIC, Certificate II in Building & Construction.Upon completion of the VCE VET program, students would have achieved approximately two-thirds of the preapprenticeshipcertificate, comprising the certificate core and some stream specific modules. Students wishing tocomplete the entire pre-apprenticeship certificate will need to undertake modules beyond the requirements of theVCE VET program.ProgramBuilding & Construction (Bricklaying) &Building & Construction (Carpentry) - Both of these programs will provide students the knowledge andskills to enhance their employment prospects in the building and construction industry. Upon successfulcompletion of the VCE VET program, students have achieved approximately two-thirds of the pre-apprenticeshipcertificate, comprising the certificate core and some stream specific modules. This provides partial completion of21844VIC - Certificate II in Building and Construction. Students wishing to complete the entire preapprenticeshipcertificate need to undertake modules beyond the requirements of the VCE VET program.Training and Employment OutcomesUpon completion of the VCE VET program, students may need to complete the remaining third of theCertificate II in Building & Construction pre-apprenticeship before proceeding to the appropriate apprenticeshipqualification. Career paths within the Construction Industry include:Building site administration; Building; Foremanship; Building Engineering; Estimation Building; Surveying andQuantity Surveying; Drafting (architectural); Architecture; Carpenter.Special RequirementsStudents are required to have the following at all classes:• Sleeveless overalls (beige)• Safety work boots (steel cap)Year 10 level of Maths and English is recommended.Structured Workplace LearningSWL is not mandatory in this program; however the VCAA strongly recommends a minimum of ten days workplacement for this program. Students will be required to have a Construction Induction Card to access buildingsites for work placement. On completion of the required modules, students will be issued with a ConstructionInduction Card from WorkSafe Victoria.
