A racist malehierarchy heightens this antagonism and further sexualizes themale-male interactions that take place over and through women’sbodies. But the elevated male tells a lie: heclaims that he is afraid that the brute sexuality of the raciallydegraded male will be used against “his” women. In fact, he isafraid that this sexuality will be used against him. This is themeaning of the pornographic depiction of the Anglo in a Mexicanjail, his ass exposed and highlighted next to the erect rifle of aMexican policeman—this depiction published in the United States,where the power relationship in reality is precisely the opposite.Since sexual force used against the white male is recognized asforce, it need only be suggested to provoke racial hatreds— one ofthe main functions of pornography since these hatreds are highlysexualized.
