Whetherfixed to a simple measuring support or integrated by the dozen into a complex installation, they record dimensions with unvarying precision. Rugged and virtually insensitiveto temperature variation and electromagnetic interference, TESA/Brown & Sharpeinductive probes are compact, can be used in any position and are easily brought intocontact with the work to be checked. The pages that follow show the family of Brown & Sharpe/TESA standard half-bridgeprobes that are compatible with the amplifiers shown in the previous pages. Most ofthe probes shown here are also compatible with earlier Brown & Sharpe 960, 990,and 1020 series amplifiers after normal recalibration/adjustment of the amplifier.• All electronic probes are mounted on ball-bearings, except for miniatureaxial probes.• Ball-bearing measuring bolts are virtually insensitive to radial forces.• Probe guide system is efficiently protected against the penetration of solid and liquidcontaminants by sealing rubber bellows. In normal conditions of use, nitrileelastomer rubber bellows are sufficient. For applications where the probes remainpermanently in contact with cooling and lubricating agents, we would recommendthe use of Viton rubber bellows.• Sealing bellows ensure full airtightness so that the measuring bolt is retracted bythrowing off the air contained in the probe. This provides optimum protection ofthe guiding system as no mechanical means is used.• Electronic signal amplification with no use of any other mechanicalcomponent produces excellent repeatability and low hysteresis.• Maximum resolution: 0.01 µm.1 Mounting stem or probe housing2 Coil system3 Item mounted between both the ferromagneticcore and measuring bolt forthe correction of the varying coefficientsof thermal expansion4 Force compression spring5 Anti-rotation guidance6 Ball cage7 Setting element for limiting the bolt travel8 Measuring insert9 In-between tube being part of thecoil system10 Ferromagnetic core11 Force spring stop12 Ball-bearing guide tube13 Measuring bolt14 Sealing rubber bellow15 Mechanical device for zero-setting8N-1235411ø 1765ø3,819102121586Dimensions ofthe connector fittedto all TESA probes(minimum cablecurve radiusR = 15 mm).Rapp Industrial Sales888 789-7277Probe sensitivityAll stated values are valid forthe following reference conditions:• Drive voltage 3 V• Drive frequency 13 kHz• Adjustment load 2 kAll types 73.75Except for theprobe series• GT 61 / 62 29.5• FMS 130 / 132 49.17mV / V / mm
