O P T I C A L M E A S U R E M E N TO P T I C A L M E A S U R E M E N TTESA Scan 130 -for the fast accurate measurement oflarge cylindrical componentson the shop floorThe TESA Scan 130 from TESA, has been designed to give theoptimum solution for the measurement of large diameter cylindricalcomponents on the shop floor. The TESA Scan 130 is the newgeneration of the proven technology TESA Scan family machines andbrings great flexibility for dimensional measurement to manufacturersof round and shaft shaped components up to 130 mm in diameter.The TESA Scan 130 consists of an optical measuring head mounted ona vertical slide which allows it to traverse along the axis of theworkpiece supported between headstock and tailstock.The main structure of the machine is a vertical granite column whichensures linearity and stability between the three importantcomponents of the system.• The optical measuring head with air bearing guide system.• The linear optical encoder providing the exact axiallocation of the measuring head.• The workholding mechanisms headstock and tailstock.Rotation of the workpiece is achieved by a DC servo motor and rotaryencoder at the headstock spindle. The tailstock can be moved up anddown along the pillar bed to accommodate different lengthworkpieces. Both headstock and tailstock spindles have an internalMorse no. 2 taper allowing quick changeover of workholding.All of the Morse No. 2 workholding options of the TESA Scan 50 and80 are common to the TESA Scan 130, with the exception of theGripper Mechanism and Chuck which are unique to TESA Scan130.The tailstock moves on a low friction rail and is counterbalanced toallow easy manual operation. The TESA Scan optical head moves upside down along the granit TESA Scan s backbone.
