Victorthen reported that the purchase <strong>of</strong> thenew Metropolitan residence is completeand he thanked all who assistedin setting up the house. The Presidiumheard from Fr. As these ideas are de -veloped more information will beshared. During the dialogue with theUk rainian Catholic Hierarchs, twopresentations were given, one by Fr. Dr.J. Buciora on the the me <strong>of</strong> ‘Paths toReconciliation’. The position <strong>of</strong>Editor <strong>of</strong> Visnyk and CommunicationsOfficer is posted in Visnyk and on theUOCC Web page and that he is receivingapplications. Fr. Victor stated thatthe transition <strong>of</strong> res ponsibilities fromAndrew Serray to the other employees<strong>of</strong> the Finance Depart ment is progressingwell. Fr. Victor in form ed thePresidium that he continues to coordinateinterim mission services for someparishes and districts around Win -nipeg.It was reported that Keith Swintonhas conducted interviews with the staffat the Consistory <strong>of</strong>fice regarding theoperations <strong>of</strong> the Consistory Office.The Presidium called for a preliminaryreport for the March Meeting.Henry Kuzia reported that he is nowing the upcoming Vydubychi ChoirTour (April 27th to <strong>May</strong> 21st, 2011).All is proceeding well and informationwill be shared, as it is made available.The Presidium heard a report on thestatus <strong>of</strong> the upcoming Full ConsistoryBoard Meeting (end <strong>of</strong> <strong>May</strong>) and de -cided on the venue. Re garding the Ot -tawa Taras Shevchenko MonumentPro ject, a letter <strong>of</strong> appeal would be preparedand sent out to the congregations<strong>of</strong> the UOCC from the Council<strong>of</strong> Bishops, urging support <strong>of</strong> this mostworthwhile project. Inform ation canbe found on the UOCC Web site.The Presidium then heard commentsfrom the Council <strong>of</strong> Bishops.Metropol itan Yurij stated the extraordinaryEastern Eparchial Assembly,held on March 19th, 2011 to discussthe matter <strong>of</strong> the Eastern Eparchy Bi -shop’s title, was very positive. Part icip -ants in the meeting came with the goal<strong>of</strong> seeking a resolution. The informationgathered from this meeting will bepre sented to the Full Con sistory Boardfor further direction.Metropolitan Yurij then stated thatthe <strong>Orthodox</strong>/Catholic Dialogue (March15th-16th) discussed topics <strong>of</strong> mutualinterest especially in the areas <strong>of</strong> interfaithrelations with non-Chris tians.Following this dialogue, Metro politanYurij and Bishop Andriy participatedin the <strong>Orthodox</strong> Bi shops <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong>Dialogue (March 17th). He stated thatthe matter <strong>of</strong> naming the CanadianAssembly <strong>of</strong> <strong>Orthodox</strong> Bi shops is stillnot decided. Other topics <strong>of</strong> discussionwere: reception <strong>of</strong> converts, cremation,and creating a na tion al registry <strong>of</strong> ca -nonical clergy and churches and mon -asteries in <strong>Canada</strong>.In his report, Fr. Victor discussed thestatus <strong>of</strong> various parish and clergymat ters that have been brought to theattention <strong>of</strong> his <strong>of</strong>fice. These mattersare ongoing. He stated that the deadlinefor transfer requests has passedand he will prepare a dossier for theВІСНИКтравень 2011proceeding with the completion <strong>of</strong> theAn nual Audit for 2010. He is trainingstaff in the finance department withregards to new duties that are now as -signed. He stated that a concerted ef -fort would be made to address Ac -counts Receivables. He noted that thereare computer upgrades to be made. Heis also looking into various governmentalprograms for summer staffing,building upgrades and funding.Fr. Gene Maximiuk reported that allis progressing within normal parametersre garding his departments. Theprayer book publishing is awaitingfinal approval by bishops and committees.A new column in Visnyk will be -gin in <strong>May</strong>, geared for Young Adults.He also reported that once the prayerbooks are sent to print, he would be -gin the process <strong>of</strong> publishing volumes5 and 6 <strong>of</strong> the History <strong>of</strong> the UOCC.Under new business, various lettersre ceived from clergy and parishes, representingmatters <strong>of</strong> concern, werebrought forward with the Presidiumresolving the mat ters or deciding t<strong>of</strong>urther investigate them. Due to theprivate and sensitive na ture <strong>of</strong> many <strong>of</strong>these issues, detailed information cannotbe released.The Meeting adjourned with theblessing <strong>of</strong> Metropolitan Yurij.—Office <strong>of</strong> CommunicationsCouncil <strong>of</strong> Bishops to begin addressingthe matters. He further stated that discussionwill have to take place re -garding realignments <strong>of</strong> parish boundariesin conjunction with the clergyassignments. Fr. Victor then indicatedthat the ap plicants for the job <strong>of</strong> Editor<strong>of</strong> Visnyk will be forwarded to theConsistory Board for their review.Henry Kuzia presented a financialstatement for the 5 months ended Feb -ruary 28th, 2011. <strong>Church</strong> Goods show -ed a loss for the period, but is movingtowards a pr<strong>of</strong>it situation. Customerservice is im proving and the Store willbe opening on Saturday’s from 9:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Ec clesia Publishingcon tinues to operate within its targetre garding the budget. The Office <strong>of</strong> theConsistory Levy revenue is coming insteadily. General donations are downbut this may be attributed to last year’sSobor activity. The consolidated financialstatement showed that the Con -sistory is in a positive financial position.Mr. Kuzia stated that the AnnualAudit is in its final stages <strong>of</strong> completion.The Pres id ium reviewed the processfor reviewing the Annual Finan -cial Audit.Fr. Metropol itanConstantine opened the gatheringwith a prayer and the address <strong>of</strong> HisAll-Holiness Ecumenical PatriarchBar tholomew, who greeted the Arch -bishop with a congratulatory letter.His Eminence Metropolitan Yurij,newly installed Primate <strong>of</strong> the Ukrain -ian <strong>Orthodox</strong> <strong>Church</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Canada</strong>,greeted Archbishop Antony at the banquetin behalf <strong>of</strong> his <strong>Church</strong> Admin -istration and all his clergy and faithful,recalling their more than 40 year longfriendship since first meeting in hisfirst year and the Archbishop’s finalyear <strong>of</strong> studies at St. Andrew Seminaryin Winnipeg, Manitoba, <strong>Canada</strong>. Hespoke <strong>of</strong> the many times they haveworked together on various projects ashierarchs <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Church</strong> and the manytimes that Archbishop Antony hastaken part in the life <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Church</strong> in<strong>Canada</strong>. Bishop Andriy greeted in be -half <strong>of</strong> all the Canadian hierarchs—including Bishop Ilarion, who was un -able to attend the celebration—andpre sented the Archbishop with a beautifulicon <strong>of</strong> St. Antony the Great forutilization in his liturgical and prayerlife.Archbishop Antony spoke <strong>of</strong> thegreat mystery <strong>of</strong> events that took place25 years ago – on October 6, 1985—when he knelt down before the altar <strong>of</strong>St. Andrew Memorial <strong>Church</strong> in SouthBound Brook and was gifted with thereality <strong>of</strong> the Grace <strong>of</strong> God, whichwould fulfill that which was lacking inhim and strengthen him along the en -tire path <strong>of</strong> his episcopal ministry. Hespoke <strong>of</strong> the struggle for all bishopsand for any rank <strong>of</strong> the priesthood toremember at all times that they areministers <strong>of</strong> Christ—to His <strong>Church</strong>and to His people. The bishop cannotadd anything to the Good News or <strong>of</strong> -fer any salvation on his own. He canonly assist those entrusted to his spiritualcare in growing in their faith andfollowing the narrow path, which leadsto God’s Heavenly Kingdom.The Archbishop <strong>of</strong>fered special andemotional words <strong>of</strong> gratitude to manypeople for their influence on his life.He presented a bouquet <strong>of</strong> flowers tohis mother Dorothy, who was overcomewith emotion at the long-standingovation given to her by the entiregathering. His Eminence made specialmention <strong>of</strong> all those who providedvery specific and powerful spiritualand emotional presence in his life, all atthe appropriate times.On the following day, Sunday, Jan -uary 23, 2011, His Eminence Archbi -shop Antony served a Divine Liturgy <strong>of</strong>Thanksgiving at St. Andrew Cath edral,while the parish family greeted theirPress Releasehierarch on his upcoming Name’s Dayand birthday.Concluding the celebrations withthis Liturgy, the Archbishop stated: "AsI give thanks to God for the uniqueprivilege <strong>of</strong> having been your shepherdall these years, I also want to thankeach <strong>of</strong> you for your own witness <strong>of</strong>openness to the gifts and challenges <strong>of</strong>the Holy Spirit according to the particularcircumstances <strong>of</strong> your life.
