B*capital, a brokerage fi rm and Cortal Consors subsidiary, specialises in tailor-made advisory on equity and derivatives products and discretionary<br />

managem<strong>en</strong>t <strong>for</strong> affl u<strong>en</strong>t cli<strong>en</strong>ts; it offers individuals direct access to all markets, fi nancial analyses, close personal consulting and<br />

portfolio managem<strong>en</strong>t services.<br />

Cortal Consors has an operating pres<strong>en</strong>ce in six European countries – Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and Italy. At 31 December<br />

Germany<br />

• Cortal Consors gained 141,000 new cli<strong>en</strong>ts in 2006; brokerage fl ows increased by 46% betwe<strong>en</strong><br />

2005 and 2006.<br />

• Cortal Consors, 5th most attractive brand in Germany among <strong>bank</strong>s: the German fi nancial<br />

weekly Wirtschaftswoche, and Ires, a marketing research company, ranked Cortal Consors<br />

5th out of 21 <strong>bank</strong>ing sector players, ahead of Deutsche Bank, Citi<strong>bank</strong>, HSBC and Crédit<br />

Suisse. Within this ranking, Cortal Consors’ score had ris<strong>en</strong> the most of all the fi nancial<br />

companies.<br />

• No. 2 online broker: the major German fi nancial magazine Euro am Sonntag rated Cortal<br />

Consors no. 2 in online brokerage services. <strong>The</strong> analysis focused on providers’ ability to<br />

meet average cli<strong>en</strong>t needs.<br />

• New mortgage offering: Cortal Consors offers mortgage loans to private investors through<br />

an op<strong>en</strong> architecture plat<strong>for</strong>m that allows them to select the most suitable loan from among<br />

40 <strong>bank</strong>s’ offers. This new product repres<strong>en</strong>ts another step in wid<strong>en</strong>ing the product range.<br />

• Short selling <strong>for</strong> private cli<strong>en</strong>ts: Cortal Consors’ trading cli<strong>en</strong>ts can now take advantage of a<br />

short selling service, a unique offer among German <strong>bank</strong>s.<br />
